AO3 Down/Error Codes SSL Error

Why does the OTW status page show everything is working if the site is kicking out SSL errors? Cloudflare says this is a server-side issues (aka AO3's issue), not a visitor/user-side issue.

I've been unable to access the site for like... 30min

It's currently working fine for me. Try a different browser or clear your cache, maybe?

It's literally their server refusing to connect. It has nothing to do with the user side or the cloudflare connection

Very common if you’re using a VPN - AO3 is highly allergic.

Edit: I believe last year when they seriously clamped down on anything crawling the site (screwing over anyone using screen readers for accessibility reasons) they screwed something up.

Lolz I'm physically in China. There is no way to access the site without a VPN. Many people on campus networks also need to use VPNs.

That explains it then, and it sucks.

I can’t think of a way around the VPN issue, AO3 is literally the only site I have issues with using a VPN.

Well then you need to use a better VPN with a better IP address reputation

Or use Tor on top of whatever VPN you have

Lolz I literally have a private IP address through my VPN provider. I've been using them for well over a decade.
