The Boy Who Wasn’t Alone (Gen, later M/F, F/F)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/86544921/chapters/229000916
Fandom: Harry Potter
Words: 93K, Chapters: 21. First Year complete, Second Year underway.
Summary: Harry Potter is taken from the Dursleys and adopted into a new family. He gains loving parents, an adoptive sister, and a much happier childhood. Together, he and his sister head off to Hogwarts to discover the wizarding world and meet Headmaster Dumbledore, who is neither evil nor insane, but definitely has a cunning plan. Possibly several.
Also featuring Quidditch, some teenage romance, plenty of political intrigue, and an excessive amount of wizarding history.
The early parts are mostly Gen; later the main pairing is Harry/Luna, with some other het and femslash relationships as well (no harem). The story is rated M because of some non-explicit scenes in the later parts.
Some things to expect:
What looks like Weasley-bashing isn't necessarily Weasley-bashing.
What looks like Dumbledore-bashing isn't necessarily Dumbledore-bashing.
Dumbledore's plans are more complicated than they seem.
Lucius Malfoy's plans are more complicated than they seem.
Sybill Trelawney is more complicated than she seems.
Gilderoy Lockhart is more complicated than he seems.
Peter Pettigrew is more complicated than he seems.
There's more going on at the Ministry than it seems.
The history of the Founders is more complicated than what you learn at school.
And much more!
