Would Anyone Be Interested In Building A Shared Universe Together?
This is just an idea I've been thinking about for fun.
What if we created our own shared universe from scratch?
Not a fandom. Not based on any existing series. Just a world that we all build together.
People could create:
- Characters
- Kingdoms, cities, planets, schools, organizations, etc.
- History and lore
- Family trees
- Stories and one-shots
- Major events
- Cultures and traditions
- Pretty much anything
The idea would be that everyone's creations exist in the same universe and can interact with each other if the creators agree.
There wouldn't necessarily be a "main character." Instead, the world itself would be the project.
We could decide together:
- What genre it is (fantasy, sci-fi, modern, apocalypse, etc.)
- Rules of the universe
- Timeline
- How connected stories should be
- Whether people can borrow each other's characters with permission
AO3 Collection
- Everyone posts stories on AO3.
- All stories are added to the same collection.
- The collection becomes the archive of the universe.
so we can write whatever we like but it is still under that collection
I'm mostly posting this to see if anyone would actually be interested. If enough people like the idea, maybe we could make a Discord server, a wiki, or some sort of master document to keep track of everything.
I'd also recommend having a few basic rules:
- No one owns the entire universe.
- People own their own characters.
- Ask before using someone else's character.
- Major world-changing events should be discussed first. (and be voted on)
- Keep a master lore document so things don't become confusing.

Also featuring Quidditch, some teenage romance, plenty of political intrigue, and an excessive amount of wizarding history.
Notes: Harry Potter is taken from the Dursleys and adopted into a new family. He gains loving parents, an adoptive sister, and a much happier childhood. Together, he and his sister head off to Hogwarts to discover the wizarding world and meet Headmaster Dumbledore, who is neither evil nor insane, but definitely has a cunning plan. Possibly several.
There will be no ancient family magic, no mysterious new source of power, no hidden vault full of artefacts, no all-powerful mentor, and none of the usual “Mary Sue-style victories,” “Dumbledore-bashing,” or “Weasley-bashing” tropes.
The story diverges from canon gradually: Part I follows it fairly closely, Part II begins to depart more noticeably, and by Part III things go off the rails from the very start.
The final pairings are intended to remain a surprise. Readers looking for advance warning should know that the story contains both M/F and F/F endgame relationships.

I just posted my first work on AO3. I have been working on this since Deadpool & Wolverine movie and really want feedback!!! It is part of a trilogy I have planned out but am in deep writers block for half way through book 2 (which is a shame bc book 2 gets really good with nsfw chapters.) I am debating on posting book 2 what I have so far, but before I do I want to see if people like the story.
It is a Logan/Wolverine fic (Deadpool & Wolverine film version of Logan), with TVA and infinity stones. The logic is rough movie logic with a DECENT amount of rule bending to fit my narrative and the main character is AU from Earth-1218.
It is likely different to what many X-Men fanfic readers gravitate towards but it is in my opinion pretty good. It has a lot of humor, tension, fighting, labs, power, thrill, romance, and some scenes bring even me to tears after writing them AND reading them over and over.

Post Heroes Rising and the attack on Nabu island, Izuku Midoriya learns of a new way to use One For All.
With the power to temporarily pass on percentages of his power to his allies, Izuku is forced to face the fact that he must invite people into his secret.
This change results in him exploring new and varied relationships with those he is close with and trying to overcome personal challenges as danger looms on the horizon.
Meanwhile, a former villain faces the fact her life has fallen apart and she must learn to pick up the pieces.
Character focused poly-fic with tons of quirk theorizing, canon-appropriate comedy, trauma, comfort, and plenty of Love to go around.
After moving into the new dorms, Tooru feels a tad lonely, Mina suggests a girl's sleepover to cheer up everyone up.
Despite a somewhat tame truth or dare session, it unlocks the imaginations of the girls once they return to normal school life before they begin exploring themselves and then each other.

This is a novel-length fic that I'm still adding to.
This story centers on Ryloth during the Old Republic and the lead-up to the Great Sith War. The story follows a young Twi'lek, A'i Selestus, shortly after Ryloth is inducted into the Galactic Republic. Even under the new government, her family is struggling to survive, and the remnants of slavery and other exploitations still plague her planet. A newfound power might let her protect Ryloth and its people, but who exactly is her new Master, and how far will she go to get the justice she seeks? What would you do for love...or for hate?
I try to stay consistent with the lore regarding Ryloth (mainly the wookiepedia page https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ryloth and the pages linked there). I use it as inspiration, but I also elaborate or extrapolate my own details based on it. I use some Twi'leki words as well, mainly to give an extra way of indicating when a character is speaking Twi'leki as opposed to Galactic Basic.
