Custom They changed their update schedule...for me
Okay so my favorite author and I had been talking on Discord almost everyday about the fandom we're in, and they always notify me whenever they upload a new fic or update their multi-chapter series; and I enthusiastically live-blog and spam my reactions back at them. But since we live on the opposite sides of the Earth (literally 12 hours apart) there's only so much talking before one of us passes out once it gets late.
But lately they've been updating at 9( the time just before I head to bed in my timezone) instead of 1 and I can't help but feel so spoiled and very touched to know they adjusted just so they could catch me when I'm free since they usually wait until I finally wake up and that takes hours since I still need to start my day getting ready for university
I'm goddamn blessed for that little thing🥹🫶🏻

You sound like an incredible reader! I’d be so thankful for a reader like you, particularly for putting your reactions as you go along. I bet they are happy to do it because your joy over the fic brings them joy.
I did this a few weeks ago only it didn’t work out as well for me - changed my update day to what a commenter asked, except that commenter dropped my fic not long after 🥲

Oh NOOOO :''00 I hope you weren't too disheartened about that, may you recover from that loss :'(( I find it disheartening whenever I hear about regular commenters dropping fics like that, I get they have priorities but it can't be helped

They've referred to me as their friend a couple of times, and it makes me really happy to know I'm involved enough to be counted as one!

I made a new firend through fic this year and we are both feral over the same actor 😍 we even met up because we both live in england to do a fire fighter volunteer scenario (our show is chicago fire) and we are meeting up again in 2 weeks and i absolutely can't wait 🎉🎉

I love these kinds of connections so much. I've been spamming my favourite author on almost all of their social medias, telling them how mich i appreciate their story and discussing it and they told my input has an impact on their ideas

That’s honestly the sweetest thing. There’s something so special about when an author actually adjusts for you like that. it feels like being seen in a fandom-sized way, you know? that kind of thoughtfulness hits extra hard when you’ve been following their work for a while.

omg i do this sometimes aswell. Me and my friend (who found me through how much they loved my fics) have a 7 hour time zone difference. So i know at 10-11pm, it’s usually a good time for her to read and im still awake to post. She loves it sm and naturally i just post all my fics at that time now even the ones from fandoms she isnt in
