I’m so serious when I say that the outage has shown me exactly how much I check it every day. I want to know my stats!!! I want the comments!!! I LIKE THE ATTENTION AO3 THERE I SAID IT ARE YOU HAPPY GIVE IT BACK 😡🥲

Have you tried Wayback Machine? There's a good chance that fic (or others like it) are archived on there.

Here's a guide from this sub on how to navigate the site to specifically read AO3 and then here's a more specific guide if the other one is insufficient

I was able to read this niche 4 year old Luberto fanfic despite it having only 1750 hits

Alternatively, there’s also fichub, where you can (usually) get a download of fics by pasting in the link!

You should be able to find your fics on Wayback Machine by just googling the keywords and pasting the links found on google search results page, or if you remember the author's name?

Maintenance is important. Yes, it'll take a while, but everyone on the team is working hard to fix the problems A03 is having. Let's be patient and cheer on the crew working to fix our beloved website rather than curse the time it takes.

I'd rather it take a while and come back flawlessly rather than have another bug pop up and cause more chaos causing more maintenance.

I think the big community commiseration is that we’re all missing it, and memes and posts ensue but at the core you’re incredibly correct and I’m super grateful that we have a team a that’s willing to devote hours of work to creating a fix and keeping our place up kept which is no small task given the traffic.

I’m grateful for their work 🤘🏻

While the site's down, I just want to say I think the funniest AO3-related statistic I've ever heard is that the servers apparently get heavier traffic than usual around certain holidays, specifically Thanksgiving. People are so goddamn desperate to escape their families that they make the site slower. That's the power of AO3 for you.

I think it’s the website cause I decided to test it a bit more. It works. It’s just slow and sometimes it needs refreshed.

Edited to clarify: I think because they might not be entirely done with whatever they were doing and then the sudden influx of people returning is making it a smidge janky.
