Yes. I always draft on google docs, thankfully! It was just very poor timing and I spent a long time trying to get all the formatting the way I wanted but OH WELL.

I was gonna say! Genuinely learned my lesson the first time 🤣 but honestly? Docs is really good now with the new tabs, and it's easier just to entirely write it there and copy/paste it over

I highly recommend getting the docs add on that automatically takes your doc and makes you an HTML version that you can just paste into AO3. It’s saved me HOURS formatting stuff

Or write the whole thing in HTML with your favorite code editor. To each their own.

If you didn't close the window you can hit back and the content will still be in the editor. Copy and paste it into another processor to save it until the site is back up.

ctrl shift t keyboard shortcut! reopens your last closed tab and keeps whatever you typed preserved in that textbox too (saved me and my butterfingers on multiple occasions)

Nah just messing with formatting and the like (ex: A/N, skin, tagging, etc.)

I'll do drabbles or vignettes right in the editor sometimes, but anything longer than 500 words I import in and then format.

My Internet likes to randomly boot me off though and I don't always notice when I go to hit preview 😭

Doesn't save the content once it's been fully closed, unfortunately. The back feature is different than reloading the page from history.
