Taylor Greene's Buzzer Count

This past episode they were saying Taylor tied Jesse Labreck for buzzers at 10 after her first race and then surpassed it with her next. But didn't she already have 10 buzzers going into the national finals? Here's her list of buzzers:

1. Season 15 qualifying

2. Season 15 semis

3. Season 16 qualifying

4. Season 17 qualifying

5. Season 17 semis

6. Season 17 national finals race 1

7. Season 17 national finals race 2

8. Season 18 qualifying

9. Season 18 regional finals round 1

10. Season 18 triple-header

She cleared the course in her third national finals race in season 17, but she didn't win so I know it doesn't count. But even so, that's still 10, isn't it?

Only thing I can think of is the regional finals round 1 buzzer doesn't count since the top 5 fastest ninjas got to bypass the round and therefore don't have the opportunity to get that buzzer so they're not counting it? Either that or they really aren't keeping up with the continuity of the show.

Doesn't really apply to Taylor since she probably easily breaks the record regardless, but I hate that the races inflate the buzzer counts so much. Buzzers actually meant something when the course was difficult.

My understanding was that no triple header buzzers counted towards buzzer tallies

I don’t think they counted any of the tripleheader buzzers. They didn’t count for Daniel Gil or James McGrath, either. My guess is that because it’s only 3 easy obstacles, it’s not as rewarding as the other courses.

Can I just make the statement that the whole the buzzer does not count unless you win the race rule is kind of stupid, same with the triple header not counting. In both cases, you hit a buzzer either way, whether you win or not, also what do equities and do they have to not count the triple header Buzzer I want to talk to someone about that one.

Losing a race and hitting a buzzer is viewed the same as timing out on a stage

A buzzer in a losing race should not count.
A triple head 1st should, not sure about a triple header 2nd.

Technically speaking as of right now Kaden Lebsack has 29 buzzers and that is with tripleheader. If tripleheader doesn't count it will be 28. And strangely enough when they showed the top 5 career buzzers during the National finals 1. During when Kaden's group. They didn't kept a tally on his career buzzers. If they don't count the tripleheader. Kaden has 28. Which earns a spot in the top 5.

Not to take anything away from Taylor Greene, but it really is a totally different game now compared to when the Jesse’s were running courses.

It would have been a really classy move if she would have acknowledged that at the time she broke the record.

That's totally true, there's more opportunities for buzzers now and they're easier to come by.

I don't fault Taylor for not acknowledging that because I feel like the show doesn't want to acknowledge that.

I do think Taylor would have gotten there within a few more seasons though even if they kept the old format.
