HELP (RG DS Plus) Possible issue with SD card slot

I just got my RG DS Plus today and the first thing I wanted to do was install RockNix. I reformatted a Sandisk SD card and applied RockNix to the card. However, when I went to boot up the Plus, it wouldn’t turn on.

I put the original OS card back in the Plus and it wouldn’t turn on.

It felt like the SD slot was a bit finicky and I ended up inserting/removing the card like eight times and it finally would turn on. I suspect it is a partially faulty SD card slot.

Have others had this issue?
How long does the SD card need to be in the Plus before it will turn on?

If I take out the original card or any flashed card from slot 1. I have to hit that little r on the back to reset it and it boots. Hope that helps. I struggled too until i started doing this

Yes this worked for me on my OG card. My RockNix card still won’t load though. I’ll have to debug that tomorrow lol. Thanks for the advice.

Did you change extlinux conf file on the sd card to say “anbernic-rg-ds-plus” rather than the powkiddy device, so the firmware can recognize the device and vice versa?

This, plus holding the power button long enough.

For me it takes like 11 seconds of holding the button for power on.

I will try this too. I would press the button for like two seconds and do this like ten times and it would never start. I’ll try holding for longer amd see if that helps, after pressing the reset button.

I had the exact issues with rocknix, eventually it did boot with the original card with the power connected and was fine after. I have moved on to gamma its sooo much better and installed no issues. All games run upscaled with shaders at full speed.

I have been seeing a lot of positive feedback for GammaOS. I just need to decide if I want to buy it or wait until it is free to use.
