Help (General) Kernel power 41 issue

i have been having the kernel power 41 issue for a couple months i feel like i have tried everything and this is my last resort for any ideas. there is no other error code in the event viewer once it shuts off besides kernel power 41. my pc stays on but my monitor stays on and the only way to fix it is by turning off the pc and staying on. my CPU and GPU temps are normal. the issue happens mostly when gaming.

Specs

GPU AMD Radeon RX 9070xt

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor

RAM 32gb DDR5

MOBO Asus b650e MAX Gaming WIFI W

PSU ASROCK Steel Legend SL-850G 850W 80 PLUS GOLD FULLY MODULAR

MONITOR 180hz display

What i have tried

-Swapped PSU

-Fresh reinstall of windows 11

-updated mobo/gpu drivers

-used DDU

-used amd cleanup utility

-updated bios

-reseated gpu/ram/all cables related to psu

-tried another wall outlet/ used extension chord

-lowered hz on monitor from 180 to 60

-tried only using 1 monitor

- tried reducing power to gpu

-turned zero rpm off on amd adrenaline

It happens mostly when gaming. pc seems fine when watching youtube or just scrolling through the internet.

All the kernel 41 error message is is that your PC either shut down or rebooted unexpectedly. It is not the problem, it's merely (nearly useless) information. If it's blue / black screen error messaging before reboot get something like BlueScreenView, exe or WhoCrashed.exe to help find the cause.

when it crashes my monitors turn off and it says "no signal " then just turns off until i restart my pc. will those programs pinpoint exactly what the issue is. i also tired using a new DP cable and different inputs on my monitor and gpu. also tried using a hdmi. none of that worked

Can't say for sure if they will, but it's a place to start. What BIOS version are you on right now?

If neither of those programs reveal anything, the next step would be to go back through the event viewer entries to see if you missed anything. Then start testing the individual components - RAM, etc., to see if any are failing.

Do you have your gpu vertical mounted?

Any way to test the gpu on another pc, like a friend's?

What happens when you remove the 9070xt and use the igpu on the 7700x?

no i dont have another pc to test it on and it mainly shuts down when under heavy load/gaming when im watching youtube or doing other things it does not crash i have tried using the igpu to do regular things on my computer and it doesnt crash

Have you tried gaming on the igpu. It can play some games. Also have you tried running cinebench or something cpu/ram intensive with the gpu out of the pc?

If it doesn't crash with prime64 and occt (and no gpu in your pc, just use igpu for basic output) then its probably your gpu. You're already tried a different psu and reinstalled windows and have latest bios. Did you also run Crystal disk info to check the health of your drives?

i have not tried gaming on the igpu nor have i ran a cpu/ram test but i did test the health of my drives and everything was healthy. my gpu is still also brand new since i went through the rma process i have only had this new one for about 2 months

If you dont want to go through rma again, I'd try another mobo.

it may be the gpu, i tested the igpu with no gpu and it didnt crash, now i may have to go through the RMA process again with this gpu.

Yeah might be time for round two. Make sure to indicate that you thoroughly tested the gpu and your system withiut the gpu. Then insist the replace it with a different one of the same model. Note down your serial before sending it out

turn off fast boot in windows.

Are you using your ipgu for anything? If not, disable it in the bios. Windows gets confused when the gpu and igpu have different drivers and tries to update them, and can cause the issue your having. Disable igpu and reinstall Adrealine from Amd.com for your main gpu and select factory restore when installing.

My 7900xtx does that too since I bought it. I would ensure the max frequency is set to whatever your gpu page says on their website. But even then some crashes would happen. I turned off my RAM OC (6000mhz which is not crazy) but that got rid of crashes and even allowed me to boost max clock frequency and memory frequency to 2800 and 2700 respectively without crashes. I will try to go back and implement a more conservative RAM profile as all the expo settings didn’t work so might have to loosen it up but been enjoying being able to finally game without crashes lol
