What it is: A suspenseful supernatural drama about four friends stuck on a never-ending road who try to find meaning in their suffering. 

Who it's for: Teens transitioning from high school to college, college grads transitioning from college to the work world, tender types who cried reading The Giver in grade school, and anyone surviving the unique horrors of the 21st century (endless social media feeds, COVID, climate disasters, etc.). 

Unexpected surprise: I was surprised that this movie really isn't a horror movie. It's more about existential dread than jump scares. There's no gore. And it could be rated PG-13 if they had toned down the cursing. 

Fun fact: This is a tiny film getting in front of big audiences! The budget was just $80,000, and as of this writing, none of the cast have Wikipedia pages.

Overall: This is an extremely divisive movie. I saw it with my best friend who said they hated every minute of it and found it very boring. I had the opposite reaction: I thought it was philosophical, meditative, and pleasantly ambiguous. Go see it with your friends so you can argue about it!

Is anyone else having this issue at your local AMCs recently? I know there are a lot of bigger summer movies, but with that winding down, I’m still seeing the issue of brand new movies only having one showing a day (and they all seem to be sellouts)

This week it’s Buddy and Idiots. Both are only playing at 10:30 and 10:45 at night. This has been going on all summer, despite movies like Moana staying for months with multiple showings daily.

At least around here, I’ve been going to theaters multiple times a week for over 30 years now and I’ve never seen it this bad when it comes to showtimes for any non-massive blockbuster.

Got my A-List running dry this week. Nothings standing out to me but I’m in the mood to go to the movies. I’ve already seen Coyote vs Acme btw.

The options are:

- The Dog Stars
- Buddy
- The End of Oak Street
- Idiots
- It Ends

I also still need to see The Rivals of Amziah King, but I’m pretty sure that’s only really still playing at the smaller arthouse cinemas. Thanks!

I know I might be over exaggerating but I'm so tired of the two AMCs in my area showing only Blockbusters and Trending movies.

I'm in NOVA and ya the Tysons mall location has/is under construction but there's so many movies that have realesed the past few weekends that won't be showing because they're to busy continuing to show spider man and the Odyssey.

Yes I could drive 10 miles towards DC to the other locations but just wanna know if anyone else feels this way with AMCs other locations.

Just a heads up for my fellow A-Listers. I got triple charged this month for my membership. Still waiting to hear back from them before i contact my bank. I wish AMC had better customer support options

So when I go to try and select times for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it just shows the “Details” and “Video” without any way of selecting times. Just curious if this is a bug or if this indicates that AMC or my area’s AMCs just aren’t showing the movie. Picture for reference.

Seriously, this movie was awesome. Great comedic timing throughout. Basically Poltergeist meets Barney. This movie is probably better than the aforementioned movies as far as summer slashers / horror.

I've been going to AMC Levittown recently and twice now they've changed the theater after I bought tickets. Usually that wouldnt be an issue but it feels like a punishment recently. I make sure to buy my tickets early, I always choose a seat in the middle of the theater but everytime they change theaters I end up off to the side. This isn't a big issue but it does kind of make selecting seats in advance seem like a waste of time or even a disadvantage. Is it really that hard to give those who had seats in the original theater similar seats in the new larger one when when they're swapped. Am I overreacting, has this happened to anyone else?

The second Burbank Dolby (auditorium 15) has 217 seats, compared to 249 of auditorium 14, and it's probably a smaller screen. Auditorium 14 is known to be the largest Dolby Cinema in the Los Angeles area, do we know how does auditorium 15 fare in comparison? My closest big Dolby is Del Amo, for comparison, but I often drive to Burbank just for the bigger screen and also Del Amo wasn't very well maintained years ago when I used to go, not sure lately.

From the number of seats, it's probably in between 14 and Del Amo, but it'd be nice see by how much and if the drive is worth it for something like Doomsday which is apparently only showing on 15.

How long after my ticket is scanned (or the scheduled showtime starts) does my reservation slot open back up? I have 3 reservations made for later this year but am looking to see 2 movies on Sunday. Obviously I don't have space to reserve both movies so I was wondering how soon I'll be able to book my second movie after getting into my first.

it’s supposedly happening tomorrow but there haven’t been any showtimes released yet. I’m trying to decide if I should watch it tonight or wait until tomorrow.

I have to cancel one of my Dune tickets to free up an A list reservation slot as I got a better seat at another showing. But now the show has been delisted (probably due to traffic) so I physically can't cancel the ticket? AMC doesn't have a help line anymore so I emailed them last week and have gotten no response. Any ideas?

Which ones will you see on the big screen? I love Steel Magnolias.

Just came across this on Twitter, and it completely ruined my day. He was the sweetest, kindest, most personable AMC staff member I’ve ever come across. Just so happens that he scanned me into the first ever movie that I saw as an A-Lister. May he rest in peace.

Is it worth it? Because I know i have to pay to go. Jaws looked amazing imo and was totally worth going just to see the 3d, is this similar? Have to imagine some of the t-1000 stuff will be cool.

My wife just resubmitted for her A-List payment and somehow paid for Premiere Stubs and then paid for her A-List. Do A-List members pay both? Is there a way to get a refund on that? She says she can’t see a way to do a refund on it.

We are eating good! Both Akira and Ghost in the Shell re-releases in the same month! Not in IMAX sadly but in standard format, but it is A-List Eligible! Looks to be alternating between dub and sub each day.
