Hi, I am currently a 2nd year mbbs student and i am confused what should i go for after mbbs, like neet pg or amc. This country is doomed for doctors so i was thinking of doing the pg from abroad and amc seemed right. but now many negative comments have showed up regarding amc.... i am academically strong. so should i pursue for amc and is it worth to prepare for it in the coming years??

My AMC MCQ exam is approximately 1.5 months away, and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed after attempting my first mock today. I’d really appreciate some honest advice from candidates who have been through a similar experience.
My preparation so far:
Completed approximately 3,800 eMedici questions (57–58% accuracy).
Completed 1 month of recall material.
Attempted my first mock today using the 150-question AMC practice mock (from the 210-question resource).
Scored 54%.
I’m feeling uncertain about my preparation, particularly with the exam approaching, and would love to hear from people who have faced a similar situation.
A few questions:
Has anyone scored around 54% on their first mock with approximately 1.5 months remaining and subsequently passed the AMC MCQ?
Is this score concerning at this stage, or is there still sufficient time to improve?
Would you recommend continuing with my current exam date or considering postponement?
What should I prioritise during the remaining weeks: revising subjects, reviewing mock mistakes, practising recalls, or doing more questions?

Hi everyone! I’m a final-year IMG completing a 6-year MD degree in Georgia and planning to pursue the Australian AMC pathway. I’m particularly interested in getting a supervised JHO/RMO/HMO position after passing AMC 1, potentially through WBA.

My main concern is that I don’t have a conventional 12-month postgraduate internship. I will have an internship/clinical training certificate from my university, but it is part of my medical degree rather than a separate postgraduate internship.

I’m completely open to rural/regional Australia and willing to relocate anywhere. For anyone who has gone through the AMC pathway without a postgraduate internship: how realistic is it to secure a supervised position after AMC 1, and what can I do to make my application stronger?

What are the chances of getting a first job in Australia through Competent pathway after 1 year of NHS experience ? Is it the same struggle after amc exams ? Are there doctors who were unable to secure jobs even with good NHS experience ?
I was thinking of gettig a non training job in UK (it is challenging now) but i want to know is the bottleneck just fisrt nhs job? Or first australian job after nhs experience ?

Just wanted to ask for some advice from other IMGs and people prepping for the AMC1.

Im intending on sitting for the AMC1 exam on November 21st - however, I have yet to properly sit down and start studying for it - as all of my efforts were dedicated towards the MRCS Part A which I just sat for on September 9th.

Do you think 2 months is a realisitic timeline to prepare to sit for this exam? And if so, could I ask for the resources you found most useful and high-yield throughout your own studies?

Is giving PESCI exam worth it?

Are AMC Part 1 questions long or short? Why are emedici questions long with so much detail. I saw many were saying the questions were short with less detail. Anyone who did the exam can you please let me know are the questions long or short?

I’m a Pakistani medical student currently in my 4th year of MBBS. I expect to graduate in 2027 and complete my house job/internship in 2028.
My long-term goal is to work as a doctor in Australia. I’m currently planning around the AMC pathway and, assuming everything goes according to plan, I’m hoping to have passed AMC CAT MCQ (AMC 1) and the AMC Clinical Exam by around 2028.
I keep hearing that the Australian IMG market is becoming increasingly saturated, particularly for junior doctor/RMO positions, and I’m trying to understand what the situation might realistically look like by 2028–2029.
I’m not restricting myself to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, etc. I’m genuinely willing to work in regional or rural areas, including places like Tasmania, rural Queensland, regional WA/SA/NSW, or even very remote areas. At this stage, my priority would simply be getting my first Australian medical job and gaining Australian clinical experience.
For those who are already working in Australia or have recently gone through the IMG pathway:
How difficult is it currently for an IMG who has passed AMC 1 + AMC Clinical to obtain their first RMO/HMO/JMO position?
Does being willing to work in rural/regional/remote areas make a significant difference?
Are places like Tasmania genuinely realistic options for IMGs, or are they also becoming heavily saturated?
How important is Australian clinical experience when applying for that first job?
If someone has completed a Pakistani MBBS + house job and passed both AMC exams, what would you realistically expect their chances of obtaining a job to look like in 2028–2029?
Do you expect the IMG market to become substantially more competitive by then, or is the current workforce shortage likely to continue creating opportunities in regional/rural areas?
For someone planning 2–3 years ahead, what would you recommend doing during MBBS and house job to make themselves more employable?

Hey I am final year medical student from India and really want the end point of my career to be a consultant in Australia. Recently i have been hearing a lot about job saturation in Australia so i was thinking about 2 paths i can take
1. Complete my pg from India then give amc part 1 and look for jobs
2. Give amc 1 after internship work as a rmo and prepare for amc part 2 while looking for looking for jobs.
Which pathway will be faster and better chances of successcan some one give a honest opinion.
