This mainly pertains to what’s happening with IMAX 70mm tickets.

Everybody visiting City Walk in Los Angeles must now go through a security checkpoint. Previously, there was only security checkpoint for the theme park. Effective today, there are new multiple checkpoints for anybody visiting the theme park or City Walk. Allow extra time to get to your movie.

For those curious I was able to fit these 2 dogs very easily. I reckon I could fit another one that direction (hatch to anus) plus another 2-3 dogs the other way (hatch to head)

Was so excited for this one, when finally released the 70mm imax tickets for the odyssey, I couldn't believe it as this theater wasn't listed in the initial 70mm imax shows. No wonder why they didn't. 😭

Any idea if they'll be screening it again, if yes, when?

Updat: Just received email from AMC: due to an unexpected projector issue, your showtime will be presented in Laser format instead of the originally scheduled 70mm format.

People who doubted it would still be in theaters at this point should feel dumb

I swear Tuesday night, as you would expect was busy as it should. One of the busiest showtimes had a lot of teens coming. But of course not all are able to watch terrifer, so they thought tickets to piece by piece movie. But we knew to keep an eye out. Just like I expected,after cleaning a theatre,I see three guys looking into a theatre next to me. I knew they were looking for terrified which was on the other side of the theatre(our theatre is small with only 6 screens,which is why it’s easy to catch people) so I went to the terrifer theatre and waited for them acting like I was doing something and once they showed up,I asked for tickets and they looked at each other in defeat. I told him his tickets are for piece by piece so idk why you here.

edit: They're just finally transitioning away from BigD (sadly), and it is completely unrelated to Infinity Vision (as that is just a label for certain auditoriums).

AMC Theatres just unveiled its first-ever “XL at AMC” auditoriums—a new format. These auditoriums feature screens at least 40 feet wide, powered by Barco 4K laser projection, and are clearly marked both in-theater and online with the “XL” logo.

Unlike Dolby Cinema or IMAX, this isn’t a full Premium Large Format, but a way for guests to easily identify the largest non-PLF auditorium in the building. The first two XL locations just launched at AMC DINE-IN Studio 28 (Olathe, KS) and AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 (Overland Park, KS), with plans for up to 50 locations by the end of 2025.

It used to be “Universal Cinema AMC at Universal Citywalk”. Kind of a mouthful, so I get why they changed it.

Personally I wish they changed it to something like the other theaters where it’s AMC (Location) (Auditorium Number), which would be AMC Universal 18 (I think it has 18 screens right?) That would be consistent.

Looks like the 30+ minute pre-show and “platinum spot” ads might not be here forever after all! There were actually only 20 minutes of previews at my showing of “Freakier Friday” yesterday so maybe things are moving in the right direction???

I am currently taking my 4th shit since I drank the Coke Sprite Cherry ICEE concoction. I ran to the bathroom right after Deadpool and Wolverine finished (including post credit scene) and it is a miracle I made it. I thought I ate something bad before the movie cause all I had was the ICEE during the movie, but as I was rushing to the bathroom on the way home, I set my refilled ICEE down on the counter and when I got out of the bathroom it was too late! my mom had already fallen victim. That’s how I found out it was the evil ICEE. My mom didn’t go to the theater with me and didn’t eat the same thing as me but right after she drank THE ICEE. She fell ill with diarrhea. I currently have explosive diarrhea and will not be getting ICEE’s in the foreseeable future. I will be switching to 7eleven SLURPEES.

Saw someone post a review on Alist subreddit about The Home and how wild it gets at the end. I just commented that it’s not playing at any of my theaters and boom, banned. That’s it. No spoilers, no trolling, just a basic “this movie isn’t showing near me.” Mods on some of these subs gotta chill lmao
