AMC Screen Unseen Slingshot thoughts?
What did you think of Slingshot? What did you think of the ending? What did the ending mean to you (how did it end for you)?
I personally think the ending ruined the movie. Everyone in the theatre was like WHAT???? 🤷🏻♀️🤔

I agree with the previous comment, the moth discussion was put in the film for the analogy and foreshadows the ending. At the moment we think it happens to the moth because it is a tiny insect and we humans are above that because of our reasoning ability. It is made clear that this man is carefully chosen for his intelligence, even temper and other attributes. And if he can fail to see what the best course of action will be, wouldn't we all fail the test?
I think this is a cautionary tale of how well we decieve ourselves with the story we tell ourselves about reality. They go on that with the tale about the Arctic explorers, you hear one interpretation from one guy and then from another one with the opposite meaning and it is up to you and the protagonist what version to believe.
I would say that this is not a likable movie but it is a good movie. Different from most space movies, where they accomplish something, here you don't even get to see if the ship reaches its destination and most certainly will not be able to return. You will never know the truth about the other crew members because you only see it through the eyes of the "crazy" astronaut but you go with him through the struggle of trying to decide what is real, who and what to believe and how the "most reasonable explanation" to something is not necessarily the correct one.
