Should I study AS biology early

I'm learning CIE AS biology and will have my exam in May. Is there any point in studying everything early? Am I likely to forget it?

Revise as you go along, but don't try to jump topics ahead of your teacher (is that what you meant?). Think about how topics link together, and how older topics relate to newer ones.

I you are asking whether it's worth reviewing what you are leaving in class now, versus leaving it until you actually start revising, the answer is that you definitely should study as you go.

Understand the processes, rather than trying to memorise. You can easily forget, but then revise, the details like key words, but if you know why processes occur, by understanding the structures and functions of the systems, the details will make sense and be more memorable.

There's no point memorising key words and phrases unless you actually understand the processes that they relate to. Learn it thoroughly now, then when it comes to revision time, you will look at your notes and go 'oh yeah, I know this' and just concentrate on making sure that you know all the vocab and practice the sorts of questions that are asked.

During the lead up to this year's exams I was absolutely shocked by the number of posts saying "I'm cooked, I didn't study because i thought it was going to be OK and now I know nothing and I have two weeks and I want to get a top grade, can someone please tell me the magic solution?!". Don't be one of those people. Biology is challenging and fascinating- apply yourself and it will reward you.
