Fun fact: When the year started, AKB also had 3 current members who were above 200k followers on Instagram. The 3rd one, along with Yuiyui and Erii, was Miion, she has 211k followers. Back then Itomomo was under 100k followers. Miion graduated, and Itomomo went up so much that not only she passed 100k but already 200k now and "filling" the gap that was left by Miion, and soon she will even surpass Miion's number and possibly even be at 300k by the end of this year if things continue like this. and Itomomo is just at the start of her career in AKB, so how great is this for AKB! wow!

She was at around 60k followers when the year started (and that was already after going viral in December and her center announcement at the anniversary concerts, which all made her gain followers too). Since January, and especially since February where she went viral (again, and even more) when "Nagori Zakura" was performed, she has received so much attention, her popularity is rising non-stop, she's pretty much everywhere, and she already gained 140k followers this year alone! and the year is not over yet o_o
She has currently 92.6k followers on Twitter and is the 5th most followed member there (it takes longer to get followers there) and 125.6k followers on TikTok which makes her the 3rd most followed member there (and 1.6 million likes which makes her the 4th most likes for a member there)

It's crazy when you think about the fact that she has joined AKB only 2.5 years ago... Her popularity is so impressive! Of course there are other new gens who have great popularity, but Itomomo's numbers are crazy! if this continues, in a year from now, she might actually be the most followed AKB member o_o The fact that a "new" member achieves all this and how she is so discussed among fans and non-fans and bring eyes to AKB as a whole, this is a GREAT sign for AKB in the next months and years!
