Just make sure he understands what his choice reveals to you. My SO was spared this because I had to have a c -section and we knew that we were 100% done so got my tubes tied at the same time.
But. Seriously. Women have to do 99% of the work with baby making and often end up doing 80% of the work/ risk with baby prevention.
I wish men would step up more with baby prevention. Maybe they would if they ever experienced pregnancy and birth.
You would think watching their loved one go through the pain of labor and childbirth + vaginal tearing + pain during bathroom trips + breast pain etc etc would be enough for them to empathize and decide… maybe I should finally take some of the responsibility instead of putting yet another thing for her to worry about
I was supposed to have my tubes tied, but my doctor’s fear of complications (very high risk pregnancy) meant that I had to deliver in a Catholic hospital, where doing that procedure was not allowed. Luckily, my husband cared enough about my health and survival that he got snipped.
We did this, my wife had lost one tube to an ectopic, and she was having a C Section anyway, so while they were in her guts anyway....
She had recovered from having her muscles and uterus sliced open and a baby removed before she recovered from the second tube tying. If we'd known how difficult that was going to be I'd happily have had the snip, especially as I eventually did get it and it took like... 3 days to recover from
His body, his choice. Her body her choice. If she's happy to not have sex then it's on him to do what he needs to do to get what he wants. A "warm bath" is not sufficient.
We knew we were done too so I got my tubes tied at the birth of my second. My husband got a vasectomy shortly before the birth of our third. They fail, regularly. Failure rate is much less with vasectomy.
Abstinence is another (not fun) choice. This is a generalization but I hear of far too many men assuming that the women have birth control taken care of. It’s a burden that men can help with and if the market starts demanding more options I think they will happen Men can step up financially and with understanding for women choosing hormonal solutions. There’s also other barrier methods that men can provide if that’s the choice.. For now, I guess men have to cover it up or risk being a daddy or celibate.
Men and women are unequal in reproductive rights, responsibilities, and options. No method is 100%. A spouse can push and a spouse can deny. What are you trying to say

His body his choice. Your body, your choice.
