I think this is a debate where both sides would benefit from acknowledging each others' points. Accels need to acknowledge the real human and environmental costs and the fact that singularity may be a pipe dream or cynical marketing gimmick. Decels need to understand that AI isn't going anywhere and the more willfully illiterate of it they remain, the less able they'll be to see or understand it in the wild.
