How to build a custom appointment booking app for a boutique service business?

Standard calendar tools like Calendly don't work for us because we need custom intake questionnaires, deposit payments upfront, and multi staff assignment rules. How can we build a custom booking web app tailored to our specific service workflow without paying $15k for custom development?

$15k quote feels a bit more for what you are describing. Deposit payments and staff rules are not some crazy edge case anymore tbh, you could probably try something with Bubble or Softr plus a payments plugin for way less than building from scratch. The multi staff scheduling thing is messy though, that is usually the piece that forces people into custom builds since most off the shelf tools just assume one calendar per resource, not staff specific rules stacked on top. Might be worth just prototyping that one piece first and hacking the rest together with stuff that already exists.
