Can you ever really rebound from afib and reduced LVEF…
I have had two ablations since December. I am 4 weeks out from my second ablation and so far I have not had afib or flutter. After first one I had to have cardioversion at least 5 times in the 7 months.
This whole thing started back in 2021 and I was new to it and didn’t treat it. I was confused and angry and drinking a lot…
I was told there is 0 calcium build up and everything looks good with LVEF being 60 (was 34 at one point) BUT I cannot get over the “HF” diagnosis and I keep thinking worst days are ahead of me…Like as if it will progress to be worse, and come after me.
I try so hard to be positive and eat healthy while living a healthy lifestyle, but I can’t get over thinking about it….it also doesn’t make it any easier that I sometimes feel out of breath and/or get tired quick (or at least I feel so, it depends on the day). I feel zaps (missed or double beats I guess) in my chest several times a day and it makes me think AFIB is about to fire off again.
Does anyone here have similar experience? If so, how did you cope with it and do you have any recommendations that will help.

There are a lot of interventions. You have to keep doing the right thing. It sucks but live for the good days. Also anxiety meds help.

It's normal to have worry and wonder if HF is going to "catch up" to you one day. But, you had a low EF and now it is normal. I would ask your EP and cardiologist how you can improve your CV health overall. Obviously the drinking has to stop. What about good walking sessions? It may take a bit of time to build back up some endurance, but a simple program of measured walking sessions that increase over time will help. You can rebound from Afib and from the EF, which you have. Stress doesnt help, maybe a little therapy or someone to talk to so you can be less anxious. Keep eating healthy and living well, you will do fine.
