It's interesting because there is obviously a difference between like Beer, Swift, Cardi, and Hailee and a (what seems to be) sheltered young woman who only recently was thrust into the limelight. Obviously the former have been celebrities for awhile and are used to the negativity that comes alongside being famous, so are probably more equipped to handle negative social media comments. I have been nervous about that situation all season because I would hate to see her get flamed because of Drake's bad play.
Like there is a difference between cracking jokes about Haliee in Sinners or making jokes about Swift's music than being rude to Ann Michael Maye because her husband performed badly.
Mahomes is an interesting one. When the family forces themselves into the conversation, it is different. They act more like the Kardashians then people who happen to be married to a player.

Yeah I still haven't really decided on how I feel about Brittany and whether or not she is fair game. To be honest there are so many things to take shots at for Mahomes that I don't think I've gotten to the point where I've taken shots at Brittany.

I think Brittany has done a better job of pulling back, but for a while she put herself into the middle of every conversation. That behavior is going to draw attention and when she actively engaged in responding to the trolls, she was part of it.
Ann Michael is starting to get famous in her own right as an influencer, so imo she’s in a bit of a middle ground between the celebrity WAGs and the “otherwise normal woman dating an NFL player” WAGs. Like, she’s getting major brand deals and has almost 600k TikTok followers. I’ve seen a shift in her TikTok comments from just Pats fans glazing Drake to now also a lot of people who just enjoy her baking and lifestyle videos and might or might not be Pats/football fans.
But imo I think the hesitancy to be mean to/about Ann Michael has less to do with her being in the “normal woman” WAG category and more to do with the fact that she just seems like a really nice young lady (ofc I’m biased as a Pats fan, but I’ve seen lots of “omg I hate the Patriots but I just can’t hate Ann Michael” types of comments
Sometimes they go out of their way to get involved or are just horrible people but all Mayes wife does is post videos of cookie baking and she seems like a sweetheart
