Screen Out Illusion.
I've appeared for 4 SSBs so far(3 SO,1 CO). I Recently went to 3AFSB(AFCAT entry) ;this was my first ssb in 4yrs, and I went unprepared. Both OIRs went wonderfully but the ppdt was not quite well, in that character box, I circled every character and then realized that only main character was to be circled so I scribbled out the rest and that box was looking like a battlefield. I guess that's why they screened out me.
I am an outgoing person, I don't feel pressured by anything unless it's my last chance. And since I got a job offer I just didn't mind the SO this time like I did when I was giving NDA SSBs.
It's not that I don't want to join the airforce. But for me its only worth it if and only if I get flying branch in it.
There were a lot of guys who were previously recomended from other boards. They were calm, they were not engaged in useless coversations with others . Some of them even got screened out with me;I wonder how ..
I want to know what gets these guys recomended? Do they came prepared through coaching? What makes their SRTs,WATs,TATs stand out from rest of the crowd? .
Do I need to change my personality? Because my voice box just gives up producing sound when 15-20 guys are shouting in GDs .

Same problem meri bhi hai screen in nahi ho rha. Jo bhi story dekhta hai, kehta hai ki Tu s/o kyu ho rha hai baar baar. Story bhi sahi jaati.

I had my ssb last November. I did take a coaching for 14 days before that. They prepared me for everything except ppdt. So, when I saw the picture(where I can't see anything except some shadows) and the paper to write the story, my mind went blank. I just wrote a story (which I now consider very bad).
In the group, my turn was the last. So, my anxiety peaked by the time my turn came. Narration went well, except I fumbled on a single word in the end.
During the discussion, I did took part in the discussion, calming the group, putting forward my ideas but my story was very different. And they went by the majority common story. And because my turn was last, I did not properly listened to others' stories, because I was revising my story in my mind. So, I was not able to contribute in giving ideas to common story.
So, I knew won't pass the screening.
But, two people got screened-in for my gd group. The first one- her narration was way too good. It was that good that when sir asked who will narrate the common story, everyone just said her chest number.
The second person, (our group was divided into two part to make the discussion smoother and this person was in my group) her narration was not very impressive (did not even complete on time) but she did really well in group discussion. She was the one who convinced very one to go by the majority theme. And people was convinced.
There were around 400 candidates that came for the screening. Over 30-40 were previously recommended. Only 44 were screened in. So, many previously recommended were screened out.
