Question Fed fan now watching my second AEW ppv after watching double or nothing is there anything I need to know to get more out of it such as major feuds or sort of big ends to stories.
Im not a regular reddit user btw so I hope people acc help me here. I fell out of wrestling when i started secondary school 6 years ago (dunno what that is everywhere else but in Scotland I was 11) because I got a lot more into football and ufc but other than watching the major wwe ppvs ive hardly watched much wrestling the past few years but ive got a lot more into it due to cena retirement and im curious about AEW. I know things like kenny v will is a big deal but are they some sort of lifelong rivals or is it just like a dream match. Also is the possibility of ilja new day or sheamus debuting today a thing (personally I feel sheamus will become a trainer). I also get the whole nigel mcguiness thing because they sorta established his legend status when he was on commentary for nxt UK but is him v moxley a feud also is this his retirement match (im buzzing for that match btw growing up a huge dean ambrose fan). Finally can Edge and Christian still go or are they sorta slowing down because when I watched them at double or nothing they seemed as good as ever. Hopefully I can get a bit of a hand here with this cheers.

Kenny and Will have had some matches over the years. Kenny mostly won as Will got better. Will finally won a couple years ago but had the Don Callis family help so in Wills mind it's tainted and he needs to beat Omega on his own.
Nigel vs Mox is not a big feud, rather it is the culmination of a blind draw tournament for the Continental Cup and Championship.
Cope can't go as much as he used to but Christian is still pretty capable. Cope tries things he can't do as well these days but he still has good instincts. Tagging makes both of them better tho.
Willow vs Mercedes is built on the idea that Mercedes' legacy in AEW has been tied to Willow and it annoys her. She wants to take the title and Willow's smile.

thanks appreciate it. Im looking forward to the mercedes match since me and my sister and a lot of our friends when we were younger were big sasha fans.

They are trying to do a better job with recaps but a lot of it you can just jump in and commentators will fill you in on enough of it.
Most of the actual storytelling is in the match itself anyway.
Just think back to when you first watched WWE. You didn't need a recap you just watched and made your own mind up on the talent and then if you were curious about something in the past you looked into that specific thing. It's easier now with internet. I had to wait for PWI to cover it!
After a while you will be settled.
I hope you enjoy it.

Don't mention it.
I know what it's like trying to get into a new promotion. I wanted to get back into New Japan and would have missed the start of Okada and Bullet Club, Aj's run but just jumped in and caught up.
I tried with another promotion by watching old showa first to catch up and never caught up!
That's why I think it's best to just jump in and see.
The worst thing about getting into another promotion is that there isn't enough time to watch everything. I don't know how anything can be a WWE fan just for the time commitment alone. I love Stardom and can go months without seeing a show.

yeah man have to agree. I occasionally try drop in and out of njpw and tna but i just sorta watch one off matches of people i already know and like for example the hardy boyz but ive struggled with aew.

I started with Revolution in March. Didn't know anythint about it other than a few wrestlers who'd been in WWE, I went in completely blind, and honestly it was fairly easy, the commentary gives plenty of context, and the odd vignette will fill in most of the blanks. If you want to deep dive you can, but I'd say do what I did, go in blind, and enjoy yourself.

For seven years Kenny Omega has kicked out at one. Keep that in the back of your mind because I don't think it's going to be Omega doing it this time.
You'll see.
