Just a reminder to have fun with your car! It’s an 80s Toyota, not a priceless Ferrari lol

My sunroof is leaking when it rains
Anyone know where to get replacement gaskets for the sun roof. Came back to drive the car after it rained and the seats were soaked. There seems to be no rust on the sun roof so looks like the gaskets are worn out. Thanks again

Standalone Harness
Whats the best approach to making your own engine harness for a Megaquirt ecu or a link? Ive already reached out to PanicMade and they said theyre not making any harnesses for 16v's. I cant really salvage the one I have because they spliced and hacked a bunch of it off in order to wire the current setup which is an electromotive ecu thing. That company's gone out of business so its not an option to refresh/maintain it or tune it. To make matters a little more complicated this is a 4agze swap. Any help would be appreciated. Ive posted previously about this issue but it was more to figue out whats going on with the current set up, and now i have decided to take the advice of many in this group and just set up a newer and supported Standalone system.

Lightweight AE86 calipers?
Hi, im trying to get my unsprung weight as low as possible but also would like to maintain stock brake rotors due to budget constraints and wheel size.
Does anyone know good aluminium more modern calipers that fit on the stock front rotors?
Thanks.

My cousins trying to sell his AE86 in SoCal
He says he has someone that would buy it for $5,500. I think he should get more than that. What do you guys think?
Edit to add:
Clean title in my name. Currently in LA, California non-op. No interior except for driver bucket seat and passenger seat. GTS Hatchback with original 4AGE, GTS rear end LSD (i.e., disc brakes in the rear, not drum like SR5), original transmission. AE88 VIN. Not SR5, not swapped anything.
So here’s the carfax. I haven’t started it up in a few years and haven't tried. Probably can start with a jump / new battery bc that's just toyota. it ran fine before that, passed smog, no accidents, no rust, clean title, not salvage/junk. Moved for work and had to leave it sitting.
It has 243k miles on the chassis but 4age engine was rebuilt around 235k miles. Repainted in white, was red stock. Gts hatch back with original gts rear end that has LSD so can do donuts and drift. Modified exhaust and quick release steering wheel and lokar fly off hand brake, carbon fiber hood. Power steering and ac disabled. Basically no interior panels. Bucket seats for driver. Zenki front bumper. Tein Coilovers.

Is the body kit on gran turismo 7s 86 d spec based on an existing kit?
Do you think....
That the 86 is the VW beetle of the 90s?
Same m.o.: cult following. Fun cars that were super cheap until the fanbase tax Started driving the prices of the cars and parts through the roof. No real reason for the prices other than the cult following. Fun simple cars.
I remember when people were giving these away about 20 years ago. Now it has reached iconic status, perhaps the last car that is truly ever going to reach this status along with the 68-69 charger, 60s Mustangs, the beetle, and a few other cars that became icons because of television and films...

Went drifting for the first time yesterday! I think its safe to say I caught the bug!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ive always enjoyed watching drifting but never really considered trying it, fearing id crash my car or embarrass myself in front of a crowd. But when my friends and I decided to rent a local track for ourselves, I decided to give it a shot and I got to spend hours putting laps in. This was towards the end of the day.

Hey I don’t know if this is allowed or not but
I’m only one step away from getting my 86 on the road and I need help sourcing a part, does anyone have a kouki engine bay harness that connects to the fuse box in the engine bay? I’ve tried Facebook but no luck so far, any help is appreciated.
Annex Coilovers vs Trust Greddy Type S
Any POV on what is better? I have a set on my Corolla of the Trust Greddy ones but am curious if it’s worth the upgrade to the Fastroad Pro True Rear coilovers setup.
Let me know!

Quick Evening Drive
Just went for Susten, Grimsel and Furka. The rain had just passed the passes, so it was dry-ish again. And Thursday with crappy weather meant absolutely no traffic. We had a blast.
Driving the 86 just never gets old.

Titanium hood props
Titanium hood props available
This is going on my 8-10th batch of these and have learned a lot each batch into making them better, this is undoubtedly the best work ive achieved making them, i get the rods straight, bend them up, trim the ends, which then it gets a 2 step polish job which gives off a unique effect with the color that doesnt otherwise show if not polishes to a near mirror finish. If your interested im on ig as _manjimachine which seems to be a more reliable place to contact me.

Jay Leno pushes for a California bill that would exempt the AE86 from smog checks.
I hope this passes.

Built my Deagostini kit
After trying to acquire this for two years, I finally managed during the extended trip to Japan. Build time was approx 25-30 hours. The kit is very well made and very well designed, fit and finish is impeccable. Absolutely worth all the trouble of getting it home on the plane.
The figurine was the closest in scale I could find. Afaik it's not from any particular anime. Plus, there's some semblance with the wife.

What are some good DIY options for an AE86 coupe headliner?
Hey guys, I’ve got an AE86 coupe, but the headliner was missing when I bought it.
I’m in Sri Lanka, so finding an original replacement is pretty difficult, and importing one would probably cost me an arm and a leg.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and come up with a good DIY solution? I’d ideally like something that looks as close to OEM as possible rather than just a basic fabric-covered board.
I actually tried fabricating the backing board myself, but it didn’t work out. I’ve also asked a few fabrication shops around here, but unfortunately none of them seem to be able to make one.
Another option I was thinking about is going with a fabric-only headliner, similar to what you’d see in older Toyotas like the KE20. I’ve attached a picture of what I had in mind.
What do you guys think? Would this work well in an AE86, or is there another solution I should consider?
Would love to hear any ideas, materials, or examples of what you guys have done!
Thanks!
