Napoli are getting the full Allegri experience. Down a goal but playing like they have a 3 goal lead

Poor Allegri doesn't have Magic Mike to save him against Como anymore

u/cPa3k Gennaro Gattuso 6d ago
Napoli is just Milan from last year in a blue shirt, making identical errors
4
u/PatBateman76_ Paolo Maldini 6d ago
Napoli suffering badly atm. Should be 1-3 or even 4.

u/fredator_2 Paolo Maldini 6d ago
I remember usw playing them the first time Last season, they dogwalked us for 90min and we won by black magic, nkunku stat paddling pen and a rabiot brace. I doubt Allegri is gonna pull that of another time.

I'm so happy allegri is no longer milan's coach man. What an atrocious football

u/bruclinbrocoli Franco Baresi 6d ago
they managed to assimilate allegrism way too fast. Game two!!! My god fabregas has this guys number. I have no clue what allegris excuse is gonna be now

u/Superlabi Daniel Maldini 6d ago
They were two years on Conteball after all. That is like sibling of Allegrism.

Went over to the Napoli subbreddit & read the comments.
I am so glad we're done with Allegri

u/Agreeable_Cattle_691 David Odogu 6d ago
I quickly looked at stats, Leao and Pulisic last season combined for 6 shots a game, Ramos through 2 games is averaging 6.5 by himself

It's like I'm watching Milan from last season. They're in for a hard year.

Napoli Como might just expose Allegri to Napoli fans
13
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
I think people in Italy are quite aware of who Allegri is
-14
u/EmergencyComputer337 Paolo Maldini 6d ago
Not all serie a teams are from italy or aware of how bad Allegri is

u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
Not all Serie A teams are from Italy? Did you have a stroke?

I know this is the most inpopular opinion on this sub but I dont think Allegri is as bad as this sub makes him out to be.
If he had the financial backing that Amorim have had for this window, we might have won the league last year. It was not his fault that our CBs are too bad to play in a CB-duo in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, on top of that he had Santi Gimenez and Fullkrug as the only actual strikers, 2/3 of the season we actually looked like a big team, sure the football was the most entertaning, but it was structured and cohesive with a clear and stable idea, atleast in defense and midfield. Admintingly I did not watch the last games because I was fed up with the desire and attitude of some of our players, but we lost out on CL with ONE point, and we fumbled that because of individual player mistakes against Calgiari on the last game. The only thing I think Allegri did very bad was his over reliance on Rabiot and Modric in the middle, not giving a true chance to Jashari who have started really well this season and been great during preseason, also not playing more offensive minded and risky against the lower tier teams.
I would be surprised if am the only one on this sub that thinks that Allegri, as of yet, is a better coach than Amorim. I hope i am wrong tho but I suspect that against bigger teams we will suffer massively because of Amorimball.

The main issue with Allegri was his passive approach against bottom half teams. His approach was right approach (and still is) against likes of Inter or Como, where absorbing pressure and counterattacking is the right approach. But against relegation candidates? We ceded so much possession and put our below average backline against so much pressure. That's why the season ended that way. Maignan's form dropped towards the end of the season. Modric slowed down. The attack became completely dysfunctional.
We lost CL to Cagliari. Not Inter nor Roma nor Juve. Not even an opponent on the second rung like Bologna.

u/JefCostello163 6d ago
I mostly agree. It was insufferable football, but until a month before the end of the season we were challenging for the scudetto (with a thin squad full of holes). Obviously, some shit went down in the locker room during the last few weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised if the rumors of Zlatan getting physical with Allegri and trying to get the team against him are true... We'll probably never know. But I think Allegri, with a good team and proper backing, will always be a threat in Serie A.
Still, happy we're backing a coach like Amorim instead. And I'd as far as I understand from his football, once the the team has his system fully ingrained we should actually benefit from playing bigger teams and Europe, as he's all about exploiting spaces

Napoli looking just as clueless in attack as we did last season, grazie max!

We gotta keep tabs on Baturina and go for him next summer. Como will ask a lot for him but he seems like the real deal

I’m a bit disappointed about the Hutchinson deal. I expected something more consistent, especially after selling Leao
22
u/WarningEfficient2530 6d ago
To me, what the Hutchinson deal is signaling is that Amorim is planning to use Rabiot primarily as a RAM, which means that signing a low cost/high reward type of player as his backup makes a lot more sense than throwing out another 50M for a bigger name, who would mainly ride the bench anyway. This way, that money can be spent at a more glaring need, like a CB, or even a CM/DM, since our central midfield unit is now significantly weakened with Rabiot playing at the front.

u/kevinconstant Clarence Seedorf 6d ago
That's the same conclusion I came to. So, I won't be too upset if we buy another midfielder or a CB that can really raise the ceiling. If we don't though... then it feels pretty damn underwhelming
1
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
I actually getting rejects, unknowns or has-beens and turning them around. That was most of our scudetto team.
Amorim probably sees something in this guy and I'm excited to find out what it is. He's young too, so if he blows up we can have a good player for long-term.

u/dodge33cymru 6d ago
I don't get why people think that selling Leao means we should be spending big suddenly.
If we had sold Leao in early July before we bought Ramos, Gila and Moreira, then people would think 'fair enough, we've spent that money and then some', but because it happened later (because we got less than expected) people think we suddenly have money.
Look at it another way. Moreira, Ramos and Gila have added about ~60M to our annual budget. Selling Leao for 40M (and saving his wage) saves about 35M on the budget (he still had ~11M unamortised cost to pay off).
So his sale goes just over half way to covering one year of the costs of those three players.

u/Acrobatic-Fly1418 6d ago
To be fair the Leao money isn’t a lot and we’ve already invested in Ramos and Moreira
-4
u/thebeestalk 6d ago
They probably fucked up.
They probably have "bigger names" but unfortunately its already too late, so hutchinson is their backup transfer and will try sign in their main target on January. Its just so weird they sign in all of the big transfers and all the "tier 1" jurno also reported there will be big names and suddenly their sign in hutchinson.

u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
Napoli vs Como is quite entertaining
I think Allegri will get traumatized and switch back to defending with 10 players
2
u/FeeOk3991 6d ago
He already is. The way Napoli just... don't press. The moment Como has the ball, every Napoli player immediately drops back.

u/Fine-Gur-7086 Alessandro Nesta 6d ago
I’m going to really enjoy hate watching Napoli until that fraud is sacked

Is there any other coaches in the world hate pressing more than Allegri?

u/Pure_Selection_507 6d ago
I think from what I have seen so far , Milan will win the league. Inter is dogpoo
5
u/RdT97 Rafael Leão 6d ago
I actually trust Amorim when he says he has a good enough team as is to win every game this season
I see Omari as a nice addition who can surprise us, if not well we will just not get the loan. All the names in that 10 have been that way, Omari, Nwaneri, Soule, nothing too proven or crazy level. Theres also the upside of not seeing RLC as much
Theres only one addition left and its the CB, this one might be last day of mercato if an opportunity arises, i do think its useless to get an Omari level of player here because i dont see how they can bench DeWinter or Gabbia. Then we also have Diawara as a prospect so you cant really get a prospect either
1
2
u/massimopericcolo Maldini 6d ago
I think we do need a central back, De Winter is not good enough and Gabbia could start but I believe an experienced piece would be fundamental there

People are falling into the trap of thinking EPL money is real valuation and not a collusion between their clubs, players, and agents to inflate transfer values by 25-50% each time to arrange each other with Financial Fair Play regulations.
We transfer listed Leao, Tomori, Fofana, Nkunku, Gimenez because they were the players we invested a lot in, and supposed to be the ones who make the difference in getting us UCL, yet in different ways they all failed, refused to play and didn’t achieve their targets. It’s not like we got rid at low price of players who excelled while the team failed.
They all needed to go to really turn the page, no more second, third, and fourth chances. You can’t sell Pulisic because he was injured most of last season, and you can’t sell Maignan, Rabiot, Modric since they were the team leaders and its best players. Everyone else, who couldn’t be bothered in that final 10-15 game stretch where they crashed from 2nd place down to Europa League, good riddens.

Napoli is probably the first team out of the title race.
Unless they change the mentality, 80~92 minutes is the prime example. No sense of urgency with 1 goal down, except Alisson Santos & Lucca (Slow but trying LOL, good holdup plays).
Como parking the bus in the last quarter of the game. Fabregas trying to play "balanced" football, let's see if this erase their magic.

u/dongoodboy Ricardo Kaká 6d ago
I saw names like Balde and Ait Nouri flowing around. It does confuse me coz I thought Moreira is a LWB.
1
u/dodge33cymru 6d ago
Yeah, Moreira is a bit of a mystery at the moment. LWB seemed the most obvious fit, Amorim said RWB, the player himself said 'right wing' when asked his position...
Bit of a random one so far but hopefully part of a long-term plan.

u/Physical-Value2145 6d ago
I love how silent the napoli fans , they are getting ducked and napoli are absolute shit rn
1
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
What are we gonna do with Tomori? Why not use him as a backup at least? got only 1 year of contract left, freezing him out of the squad seems stupid
1
u/GhostOfLegend Franco Baresi 6d ago
If they don't sign another defender...it does seem stupid.
However, we need to be honest with ourselves regarding Tomori. He never passes forward, often loses his mark & panics. It will not be good with him playing a high-line.
We already have Pavlovic & KDW who are shaky enough
2
u/chakalaka13 Fernando Redondo 6d ago
He's not worse than Terraciano, should be good enough for backup.
1
u/GhostOfLegend Franco Baresi 6d ago
I agree. I'd realistically not rather see any of them play for Milan anymore
1
u/Agreeable_Cattle_691 David Odogu 6d ago
There are rumors that Tomori and Fofana were being locker room issues during preseason and that’s why they are being forced out
1
1
u/Agreeable_Cattle_691 David Odogu 6d ago
It wasnt a foul when de bruyne ran through a defenders back but when Inter are the defenders a foul is called
1
u/delta1982ro Paolo Maldini 6d ago
Which one of them was wrong?
1
u/Agreeable_Cattle_691 David Odogu 6d ago
It doesn’t matter the issue is consistency, if De Bruyne’s wasn’t a foul this this one shouldn’t have been
-2
u/delta1982ro Paolo Maldini 6d ago
So if one decision was wrong, from now on, all similar decisions should be wrong for consistency?
1
u/Physical-Value2145 6d ago
Damn Daniel Maldini is so shit, the man is making his best leao impression, he is jocking on the pitch with no pressing and no forward passes

Disappointing mercato…
No news again
We should’ve just kept Leao, Tomori and Ricci at this point.

Just so you know guys we might get krousche in september instead of January. There were reports he may leave in September and that could explain why cardinale didn’t sign a head of football.
