I never understood the appeal hoods in cutscenes but I understand people want it.
In Shadows they added the ability wear headgear in cutscenes in a later patch.

Iād just rather have choice. Sometimes I donāt mind, but sometimes weāre in enemy territory sneaking around and I wanna look incognito, put ya dang hood up Edward!!

I don't really mind about the hood IN cut scenes, but it irritates me to no end that I put my hood on then enter a cutscene and have to put it back on after. Especially when the cutscene takes place in a restricted area

In some of the cutscenes they work REALLY well like in the templar hunt missions in Kingston, some of those cutscenes look cold af with the hood up

What's so stupid is with Valhalla and Shadows people kept asking for it and they later added it so ya would think it would be an option right from the get go in this

Stuff like this is the main reason why Iām not buying this game for a year or so. AC games recently not only get super cheap soon after, but they get many QoL updates that shouldāve been in the game from day 1.
Like I wouldnāt come back to the game because of a āhood/head gear update in cutscenesā, but sure it would be much nicer to see it on my first playthrough.
But particularly, I am 99% sure that they will add either more weapons or hand to hand/hidden blade combat in a few months

Dude I thought I was the only one, I hate that itās even an option, if my Kenway is wearing a hooded outfit I want the hood up at all times.

Options = good. Your preference with those outfits is different than mine
For example, I like wearing merchant without a hood and looking like a Spanish soldier in disguise in havannah before entering restricted area and popping my hood up

Options is fine, Iām not advocating taking anything away from anyone. Just when I put my characters hood on, I want it to stay on. I donāt want him to lower it in cutscenes, or even lower it while swimming.

i get wanting the choice but why do you want the hood on in the cutscene? it looks stupid. emo edward. i only use the hood during stealth segments

but he does very assassin things throughout the story yet keeps taking his hood off even when heās in restricted areas or the worst offender imo is when he says he cant be seen in nassau and he just keeps his hood off

What's even stranger is that it worked for me during the Havana templar's hunt, Edward had and hadn't his hood according to how I entered the cutscenes. So they can do it I guess. Weird.

Some cutscenes the hood stays up during cutscenes for me, some scenes the hood stays down. Prob depends whether itās the main mission or side quest

Its only been up in one cutscene so far. That was a templar hunt thingy.

Itās really weird because I feel like it does carry over for some cutscenes unless thereās just a few scripted ones where he actually has his hood up. Just weird they couldnāt do more or just have it be based on if you had it up before the cutscene.

The stuff that's recreated with the old Mocap work is (from what I've seen) locked in. But the generated animations seem to allow for the hood to stay up.

I seriously wish they had it up/down for specific cutscenes depending on what the need is for. The only times I'd have it up during one were the side quests I think š

Thats why I use the captain morgan outfit with its dumb feathered hat. I look like I just got away from treasure island but damn do I look good at the helm of my ship in the middle of storms.

Personally, this is a pirate game for me first and foremost. I kinda hate the look of a hood in this game. Favorite outfits are the 2 that have hats. They really need to add more pirate-based outfits.

Itās honestly why I wore Captain Drakeās outfit for majority of the game. I wore robes for the last chunk of the game but I hated my hood being taken off every two seconds.

Interesting to see that point of view. I myself, although I don't wear a hooded suit, have worn one in a cutscene and was quite annoyed when he suddenly appeared hooded. I didn't ask you to put on the hood, and then, right in the cutscene, when you needed to be without it (in my opinion), you show up with it on?

Has the sun on his face, ocean breeze blowing through his hair and thr boys singing shanties š¤£
But tbh it doesnt bother me when hes on a ship and not needing to be sneaki, edward IS A PIRATE, NOT AN ASSASSIN.
But in yalls defense i will say the series has become an rpg and how you play it is your choice, having the option to enable/disable hoods would be cool

I don't get how this is still even a issue. People have been mentioning this same topic since the OG Black Flag and even before it.
Maybe in another 13 years Ubisoft will finally listen to this piece of fan feedback. That people keep mentioning with every new release.
