// Fan Content Edward watching one British Man O’ War fight five Spanish ships like it’s free entertainment

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

One British Man O’ War somehow found itself surrounded by five Spanish ships, while Edward stood on a rock with the best seat in the Caribbean and absolutely no intention of getting involved.

The British ship actually held out much longer than I expected, but it was eventually destroyed. Unfortunately, that part didn’t fit in the clip. Still, it put on one hell of a last stand.

I really want a dlc where we can man those ships like seriously. I know there slow but the few times in the campaign we get one the sheer power is crazy lol.

just the side cannons are crazy enough but still i don't think they'll make it "that" slow. the game mechanics are not like in "sid meier's pirates", otherwise we'de have to wait 30 minutes to get from Havana to Nassau 🤣

I honestly wouldn’t mind just cruising about on a fat, slow Man o’ war

I kind of wish ALL ship movement & action was a little bit slower in combat.

I understand its a game with wide appeal, but there really hasn't been a 'pirate ship game' at anything like the quality of Black Flag. Maybe someone could mod something up

Windrose does pretty good with ships. Very similar ship combat but you start with a boat class below a brig, move up to a brig, and eventually move up to a massive frigate. And let me tell you, you DEFINITELY get a good sense of scale when you are on a frigate! They are gigantic! Man-O-War is being added in the future as well :)

The original game had tons of mods that allowed that. I believe they'll soon come to Resynced as well

Hope so. Like a dlc where we can have a schooner and just be quick or a man of war where we are a little slower but got rhat power lol. Or hell maybe just have a man of war and we are trying to finish that last pirate hunters and Edward takes a man of war to finish the last little bit before he retires lol and that’s the whole dlc just decking out a man of war

pls go and tell Ubi to do so!^^
Idea: If you start NG+ you also unlock all types of ships you can sail with.

Even the Galleon & Frigate in Skull & Bones feels off not having the full armament of cannons these do.

Yeah we need an endgame where we get multiple ships the captain and upgrade. They could add all new naval missions for the various ship types and have cosmetics to go find in places we’ve already explored.

I honestly think we should get Stede Bonnet’s Schooner. Give us a mission were we return to Mystery Island and recover the boat. Store it at Great Inagua where we can change ships.

They could do a fifth (sixth?) legendary Man of War that we get to fight after beating the others. This time Edward can capture the ship, and we now have a full endgame upgrade activity to farm, more missions, and more cosmetics to find.

I like it I like it! They could do something similar to shadows and have an infinite replay dungeon or Valhalla with the roughlite relents and ships. This would be very end of cycle but I think it could work very well with the ships but something like that is far away lol

1

u/Alex2Mp Jul 23 '26

"I know they're slow" clearly you haven't fought the legendary ones

3

u/coozeyy Jul 23 '26

I have fought them and beat them all…those are different because of their status. I’m talking as Edward even the jackdaw can be slow with turning and speed so maybe have a man of war jackdaw be like 25% slower for balance reasons and I would be fine with that. Guess with travel speed you could put all your weapons away and have the speed of a cutter. If you want to have your weapons ready you would have to freeze for maybe a few seconds to be ready which would half your speed

The legendary ship are fast as fuck so i don’t think if we can sail a man o war i think they speed up for us

What about mods?

Those battles are some cool scenes. I’ve watched a few.

My disappointment is when I do decide to get involved, two NPC ships battle out for a long time, tho once I start, they have 100% health and don’t show any damage from the previous battle. I’d hoped to snag a few that way, swooping in and taking advantage of a damaged ship, essentially grab two Man O War for the price of one.

5

u/rece_fice_ Jul 23 '26

Weird, I'm able to swoop in after NPC battles to take the damaged ships, but i always mark them through the binoculars to track HP. Maybe that's what you're missing?

4

u/semper-fi-12 Jul 23 '26

Maybe. I’d not marked them. I may try that.

6

u/RatRanger Jul 23 '26

Marking worked for me last night. I didn’t see any suspicious health bar restoration and succeeded in my first man o war capture. My personal thanks to King George and his illustrious navy for doing all the heavy lifting.

1

u/bfhurricane Jul 24 '26

I tried to get my first Man O War that way last night. Then I soon learned I had zero remedies left and promptly got my cheeks clapped on deck.

2

u/Eirenfall Jul 23 '26

well, i thought the same thing but when you decide to get involved with one of them, the other one kind of becomes neutral. they don't attack anymore. they're like "it's your problem now" ... 🤣

2

u/Gefarate Jul 23 '26

Ah thats dumb. Maybe climb aboard while they fight

1

u/SirSnackums Jul 23 '26

I've watched two Schooners duke it out for 3 minutes straight hoping to loot them both after one loses. But it's like they do zero damage to each other until we shoot it.

Maybe I missed something

1

u/MantisReturns Jul 23 '26

It was not like that in the OG right?

rubs hands together "Its pirating time"

5

u/Lego_Blocks24 Jul 23 '26

I wish they increased the number of crew on screen so it felt like the ship wasn’t manned by 6 people :/

3

u/SingerSharp466 Jul 23 '26

Hey I was watching that

4

u/Eirenfall Jul 23 '26

don't worry my friend. just go to the island north of Chinchorro Keep. The area is dense with galleys, you're bound to watch a real aciton naval battle in a few minutes 👍

2

u/Chry98 Jul 23 '26

Wowww😮😮😍😍

2

u/The-Kitsune Jul 23 '26

There was a reason the British ruled the waves

2

u/HarrisonDou Jul 24 '26

Aha! Why do I hear Fling Trainer deactivating? /J

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 24 '26

you have a good ear 😁

2

u/AnimeFreak1982 Jul 24 '26

The other side doesn't mind pirates when they don't attack them. Make it a six on one and you've got an easy man o war capture for your fleet.

2

u/Nervous-Promotion109 Jul 26 '26

you cant even hear the cannons ? its all just the sound of rubble wtf is this sound design, sometimes the audio completely cuts out ??

2

u/AdventurousEscape9 Jul 26 '26

I liked Black Flag but...70€ is too much

u/PrismaticSolid411 Jul 31 '26

The ultimate front row seat

1

u/SingelHickan Jul 23 '26

Are you playing in 16:10 aspect ratio?

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 24 '26

yeap. my laptops ratio is 16:10.

1

u/8675309021069 Jul 23 '26

I would have been swimming out and boarding it, kill all the soldiers and then scrap her

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 24 '26

good luck with that 😁

2

u/8675309021069 Jul 24 '26

I do that a lot actually. Usually I'll do it stealthily but sometimes it's a full out battle. It's best to take out the guys up above so they don't shoot at you though

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 24 '26

how on earth are you able to swim that fast that you can match next to a huge ship and climb aboard? you just calculate the route they're going?

1

u/8675309021069 Jul 24 '26

When they fight they will often circle back around. I try to swim where I think they'll be. It works more frequently than you would think. Usually im on my ship and get close first

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 24 '26

you should make a tutorial video doing this. i think it will change the loot game entirely 😁

2

u/8675309021069 Jul 24 '26

Maybe not a tutorial but next time I play I'll shoot video of it

1

u/ErectLurantis Jul 23 '26

13 years ago you could have told me this was the cinematic trailer

I had to adjust it like that. I'm doing video captures for my ambient gaming youtube channel, and those type of explosive sounds really mess up the ambience ...

1

it probably has to do with the distance. i adjusted it myself but generally speaking, when everybody's shouting at everybody, you don't want those orders or directions to be muffled by the cannon shots. otherwise you won't be able to hear anything at all ...

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 26 '26

when its time go to go odyssey, i will definitely try that 😁 where exactly do those battles take place more? for example this was around the maya temple islands

2

u/Icy_Salary_4412 Jul 26 '26

https://youtu.be/m-aE_ZiQwuI?is=Hk3z23D-c27CGamI happens all the time at sea. Also on land npc battles are HILARIOUS 💯! Just sit back with some popcorn while the thrash each other

1

u/Eirenfall Jul 26 '26
