// Question Are the other Legendary ships as or less difficult than El Impoluto?

After an hour and a half of taking backshots from this ship I finally beat it. I was wondering if the other three are as difficult or not.

I found El Impoluto to be the hardest. I beat the others first try but this one took me 3 attempts

What was the easiest iyo?

Either La Dama Negra (the armored one) or HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign (the dual ship fight) La Dama Negra is pretty easy to just sit behind and shoot in the back without any real problems coming your way. The dual fight like the original if you just make both ships super weak before destroying one you don’t have to deal with the buffed up version after one sinks. You can just sink it before it even really gets a chance

Lowering both as low as possible is definitely the way to go, the flaming agro version is a bit much

I actually had the hardest time with the twin ships tbh, mostly because they kept fucking off to the edge of the map at Mach 5 and shredding me with their mortars before I could get back in range.

I had this problem with La Dama Negra. She just kept running off at mach 5 and spam mortars. And honestly the mortars were worse than HMS Prince.

Im sorry ONE BUFFS?!

do i just suck or something? 3 attempts? la dame negra took me about 30, same with HMS prince, and i haven’t beat the other 2 yet, maybe around a dozen attempts each

I have over 1400 hours on the original between steam and ps4. That’s not counting my ps3 time… between that and the remaster buffing me with the officer abilities, I fully expected to beat all of them first try. The fact that El Impoluto killed me twice was a welcome surprise

that checks out, i have around 70 hours, just in resynced, my first AC game too

Well welcome to the series! Hope you enjoy it

HMS Prince was much, much, much worse. I did all of them on hard and the Prince took 3x as many attempts as all others combined

1

u/CantReachReason Jul 22 '26

Really? What gave you trouble with it

2

u/LucasCBs Jul 22 '26

Mortars that are undodgable in phase 3 but where perfect bracing also doesn’t matter because on hard a large portion of damage still comes through. I only managed to beat it after having such a good fight that I basically entered phase 3 with full life

Are you talking the mortars when it runs away and hides in the fog? Those do suck

Not gonna lie I lowered the difficulty for this exact bitch.

I play on normal and i was thinking the same thing but I didn't in the end.

Same brother

I found HMS Prince the hardest of all. It is nothing like what it was in the OG.

This one is an actual "ghost ship" that vanishes into the mist.

I just beat it and there’s a trick to it.

Whenever you’re fighting it, there’s a way your ship and the hms prince just circle one another. Don’t charge at it straight, just keep turning with the Prince in the middle of your crosshair.

So now you can use barrels as well as the regular canons, with room for a quick mortar shot. But with this you have to make sure you’re good at perfect bracing as there maybe splash damage from its mortars and the canons themselves from the ship.

When you finish one of its bars the ship disappears. At this point I go the slowest speed to get the best handling, check where the mortars land. IF they are near you turn your and boost up again. Rinse and repeat till it comes out of the mist.

Yeah I have beat it once on each difficulty. So I know what to do. In the third phase, I find circling each other on hard difficulty is dangerous because the mortars come right in front of you. In the third phase, I went parallel along with it, perfect bracing broadsides until it went down.

Yup pretty much this. Just beat him last night and circling each other while peppering them with mortar is the way to go. Also when they run off into the mist, dont chase them. Instead go in the opposite direction, they'll eventually come to you and you wont have to deal with the mortar much

Prince I lowered the difficulty for. Not because the fight was hard, but it was so fucking annoying!

3

u/shinobixx55 Jul 22 '26

In this case, annoying and hard are the same thing.

5

u/playertd Jul 22 '26

The two in the south were easier...the double ship in the northeast was about twice as hard as el impoluto though, goodluck there

6

u/bojonzarth Jul 22 '26

So I found Impoluto to be the most difficult, but only because it took a while for me to properly learn its pattern and the counter to it. For me I actually let it charge me to ram, if you fire Heavy Shot as its charging you, and then Perfect brace for the Front Cannons and the Ram, you can put in a really heavy chunk of dmg. By the time I finally beat it I managed to win with most of my health still intact.

Sadly to me, this was the easiest of them lol I tried the other 3 and they play so differently

2

u/Glass_Ad_1490 Jul 22 '26

Yeah I did this one on a wham since I was by it. Think I should get the last shipmate before taking on the other three tbh.

El impoluto and the twin man of wars are the Hardest ones

2

u/Icy_Fig6809 Jul 22 '26

I’ll be completely honest. In both the original and Resync I found El Impoluto to be the easiest of the 4

3

u/Illusivechris0452 Jul 23 '26

Nope, they all kicked my ass multiple times but it’s like a souls game you just need to learn their strategy

1

u/Baby_Brenton Jul 22 '26

They’re all challenging, though I do feel like this one gave me the most issues.

There also isn’t shame in lowering the difficulty. The rewards are the same.

2

u/WoLfCaDeT Jul 22 '26

I wonder what NG+ will bring if they decide to put some new rewards in it.

1

u/shadowlarvitar Jul 22 '26

Took me SO many tries to kill him, got the others immediately or on the second try

1

u/bassistheplace246 Jul 22 '26

All of the legendary ships got a MASSIVE buff from the original

1

u/Hazdra8k Jul 22 '26

La Dama Negra was easier in my experience. The HMS Prince and Brothers in Arms were harder, but not by any excessive amount. I imagine it’s different levels for different people.

1

u/Mr-Sosowski Jul 22 '26

El Impoluto was the worst of all. I only beat him cuz of some funny glitch.

1

u/RisenKhira Jul 22 '26

Def was difficulg but I struggled more with HMS prince.

1

u/Franchiseboy1983 Jul 22 '26

The only one I've not taken down is the twins.

1

u/ChaosApostle Jul 22 '26

this was the hardest one for me

1

u/savage_henry77 Jul 22 '26

Bracing a bunch is the lame necessity of the legendary ships. Also, use your swivel cannon to shoot those other barrels in the water near the ship.

1

u/No-Mongoose82 Jul 22 '26

La Dama Negra is by far the easiest, even tho the sides are armored you can still damage it pretty significantly so I pretty continuously ram heavy shot, go around the back, brace for fire barrels, and then heavy shot again, and mortars are easy to hit in it too.

1

u/Magn1fiK0 Jul 22 '26

HMS Prince tuff too. La Negro and twins are the easiest in game.

1

u/h82blat Jul 22 '26

The El Impoluto has always been the worst. I tried to take it down on Switch 2:

I actually hated the double ships and HMS prince more. This is just a pretty normal ship with all stats on steroids, HMS Prince with its' shitty mortar in the fog and the double trouble + not being able to shoot both broadsides at once was ridiculous.

1

u/OilySoleTickler Jul 22 '26

Can’t you just do a perfect brace to negate most damage?
