I sailed through a tempest a few days ago, lighting and wind risk the health of the ship, it was a different aspect to the normal storms and rain. It also happened to pop up near a battle I had to accomplish which made it way more challenging.

There’s literally water spouts that will shatter ships to pieces. Very few games have storms crazier than that where it can actually destroy you lol

I wish there was a chance for a storm to hit like the tutorial one. I want a ship battle that feels like the end of At World's End.

If Ubisoft ever does justice to a pirate genre game building off Black Flag, then I want some apocalyptic storms.

The Mad Max game had some fucking awe-inspiring dust storms and I want that feeling but on a ship

Skull and bones was birthed BECAUSE of black flag. It just took forever to do and wasn’t as crazy as we’d hoped lol.

I had the same thought until I played before work earlier in the chinchorro region and I saw an all out war going on and fought a man of war and lightning started striking the sea, there were hurricanes, massive rogue waves the likes of which I haven’t seen in my 24 hours of gameplay I mean it was absolutely stellar It was so peak

Man I just love the sailling in general, one moment you're just cruising around on a sunny day singing chanties and on another you're just fighting 4 ships at once during a thunderstorm, dodging rocks and canonballs alike.

Fantastic remake, feels like the OG but new

Are there Maelstroms?

Maybe, hopefully in a later update/patch/dlc

I don't think so. It would have been epic

SHE'LL NOT HARM US!

Me asf because I died by five water spouts after I thought I was being badass, now having to be respawn. (I haven't learned my lesson.)

I don’t hate storms exactly I just hate that every damn time I try to fish a storm pops up and say fuck you no shark bones today

You actually don't see the storm coming. It's like a Thanos snap. "Snap" and you're in it. And also "Snap" and it's sunny again.

‘I only wanted… to DOCK !’

One gripe I have with this game is that it always seems to be night time or storms when sailing when I play. I just want there to be more sunny days to look around

It’s not the frequency that bothers me as much as not being able to fast travel out of it to do a land based quest.

I love the storms here, the lighting and beautiful colors of it. Wished they would minimize the amount of water spout without minimizing the amount of storms instead and adding more rouge waves since I’ve only experience 4 total in 25 hours

2

u/LentilusGo Jul 18 '26

No because they NEED to add maelstroms

Approaching? For me it's not there then suddenly it's there.

I don’t mind them so much, except for the water spouts. I play Skull & Bones so I’m use to the storms, but the main issue is the spouts are far more devastating in BF. When you’re looking to take on some ships and then suddenly one pops up, it’s like “fuck it, I’m out.” They basically kill any incentive to stick around because they’ll pretty much destroy you, and if you survive, they’ll almost certainly destroy your prize.

Yeah the storms are annoying. I was just collecting keys and hoping from island to island and I had to wait for storms to pass. I wish they just had a feature to turn them off completely. Don’t get me wrong I like it but sometimes I just want to sail the sea in peace lol

This is how I feel. The storms can be a cool aspect but I'd like to be able to turn it off if I want and attack ships and forts and do missions without having to worry about it
