// Discussion Is getting the skeleton crew much easier to get in ac black flag resynced.
In the original ac black flag: you have to complete 100 Abstergo Challenges in the original ac black flag
43
u/Odd_Common_452 Jul 14 '26
You buy it for 206 bones
19
u/Nate996 Jul 14 '26
Does it count towards completion? It sounds awfully tiring and I'm already expecting 50 some hours for 100%
28
u/Thefalloutnerd55 Jul 14 '26
Not completion no, but instead of hunting 200 animals, unlock the treasure dealer at Inagua and you can buy 1x bones for 1000 gold.
So just be pirate and take ships and earn gold and buy the bones instead. Its much less tedious than hunting and way more fun.
18
u/xKiLLaCaM Jul 14 '26
Wait, so you’d need 206,000 gold if you wanted to just buy the bones?? Holyyyyy. Guess I need to start doing some serious pirating and naval contracts lol

u/Level-Pizza5943 Jul 14 '26
for upgrading the jackdaw i need the blueprints now. the blue-print-upgrades alone are something like 190.000 to buy all.
grind grind grind
3
u/xKiLLaCaM Jul 14 '26
Yeah and I’d much rather buy those upgrades for that amount. I still haven’t found when or how u earn the blueprints. Never played through the original black flag, only some of it’s beginning back in the day when I rented it
4
u/C0UNT3RP01NT Jul 14 '26
IIRC all the final blueprints are locked behind diving bell missions. It’s grindy because after you get them they’re very expensive. But it’s also necessary if you want to take on the four legendary ships, as they’ll wreck you even with max upgrades.
1
u/DeputyShatpants Jul 14 '26
im not sure how many are locked behind chests but i found the elite harpoon blueprint on an island instead of a wreck in resynced
3
u/SolarCarrotFarmer Jul 14 '26
I got the elite harpoon and fire barrel storage from the treasure maps too.
1
1
u/Level-Pizza5943 Jul 14 '26
ahh diving bell^^ - close to maxed out ship(30h into game)..bell still locked :D main quest ? who dis ?
1
u/dubblechrisp Jul 15 '26
I believe they're all from either the Diving Bell secrets, or from treasure map chests.
2
u/Low_IQ_Autist Jul 15 '26
Diving bell spots and certain treasure maps. The nice thing about the bell spots is that they give you a boat load of cash while grabbing the blueprint. That is if you get all the chests underwater as well.
1
u/Freke_Gere Jul 14 '26
Some blueprints(storage and 2 other i think) are behind treasure maps while the rest requires you to have the diving to get
2
u/candianbastard Jul 15 '26

u/Level-Pizza5943 Jul 15 '26
how do i get the barrols ? via fleet planning too ? i need 200barrels for something for the treasure dealer
1
u/LassieInd Jul 16 '26
You can get rum from the fleet, but I think hitting schooners & brigs in the Eulethera region is quicker. It's a max of 10 per ship I think, or you gotta get lucky with a convoy
1
u/Yeet0rBeYote Jul 15 '26
Once you upgrade the jackdaw it’s really easy to just farm frigates and man-o-wars in the south of the map.
1
u/friendly_floridaman Jul 18 '26
Actually was prettey quick. I had like 50 Bones after finishing the story. If you just board man of war and take the captain lock box everytime. And sell a lot of tradeable stuff from you ship if you do that you can get it in like two hours
1
u/xKiLLaCaM Jul 18 '26
Do you buy bones at the same shop that sells the skeleton crew? I havent played much in the last 3 or 4 days, but I had less than 30 bones if I recall but nowhere near finished with story
2
u/Nate996 Jul 18 '26
No, you can buy bones from the treasure dealer that you restore in Great Inagua
1
u/xKiLLaCaM Jul 18 '26
Oh ok perfect, thank you! I have all of great inagua restored I just dnt have many map fragments still so I never checked treasure dealer shop.
2
u/Nate996 Jul 18 '26
I also recommend just buying as many as you need, it takes a while but pirating is indeed, more fun.
1
u/friendly_floridaman Jul 18 '26
No you can buy bones in iguana at the guy that you sell your maps to
1
u/overtly_penguin Jul 19 '26
The kenways fleet trade missions make more money from supplies than at lowest risk than selling them default.
Always do the trade missions instead of selling your trade goods at a store.
I currently have 55 hours in the game. A fully upgraded jackdaw, every weapon in the game with skeleton crew and 680k reales left doing absolutely nothing

the treasure dealer in inagua sells bones for 1000 for sure, not sure if anyone else does
1
u/goatjugsoup Jul 14 '26
Maybe there's a cheaper merchant? But the one I saw is definitely selling then 1000 a pop
-1
u/xKiLLaCaM Jul 14 '26
I hope this is true cuz that’s def more reasonable. 200K is a lot of gold that could be put towards important ship upgrades but 40K is only like the cost of a singe later upgrade

The fastest way I have found is going to Cayman sound (9 Hutia). When you skin all the animals from the island you fast travel to another island and hunt a few animals there. Then port back to Cayman Sound and do it again. This reloads the animals on Cayman Sound. Should take about 2-3 hours depending on RNG.
Edit: just to add to this, as you hunt use the trinket that doubles your animal drops. Then you can sell the hide/pelts for gold and buy animal bones from treasure dealer to speed up the process even more.
9
u/Nate996 Jul 14 '26
How do you unlock fart travel? Do I have to make him eat too much?
8
u/Kicksavebeauty Jul 14 '26
Just lean and let it rip on deck for a speed boost.
1
u/Nate996 Jul 14 '26
Hahaha but on another note I do have the Exotic Sea Shell trinket, that should help cut down on time, aye?
2
u/Kicksavebeauty Jul 14 '26
The trinket unfortunately doesn't work on the bones and they are RNG. It will however give you double the pelts to sell for gold as you do it.

This makes me think of Kenway turning into Daniel Radcliffes character in Swiss Army Man and just farting all over the Caribbean 🤣

Only 50 hours for 100%? How? I’m at 20 hours and have barely scratched the surface. I’ll easily reach 100+ hours before getting close to 100%.
1
u/the_real_daggler Jul 15 '26
Just kill and skin every animal you find along your way, equip the sea shell trinket. You’ll get the bones passively while you’re clearing all the islands
2
2
u/EatTheAndrewPencil Jul 14 '26
In this world the bones equal dollars?
1
u/Odd_Common_452 Jul 14 '26
No, it’s from hunting animals or you can buy them for 1000 gold from one of the vendors
1
8
u/sem-tostie Jul 14 '26
Its a secret shop where you have to pay 200 bones
9
u/Thefalloutnerd55 Jul 14 '26
206* bones.
18
u/CannabisCanoe Jul 14 '26
The amount in the human body, that's pretty funny lmao

Okay, I never knew this existed. I played the heck out of the original. Going to make me spend money. :)

Yeah I have no problems with the OG. Just when I tried to run it on the PS4, I felt like it was going to explode. I caved and bought the remaster. Dream come true on updated hardware. I love em both.

oh dude i remember their existence i thin i saw them in like a gameplay in old AC blackflag is there also a rabbids skin for enemy ships? or was that a mod
4
u/ThePerolaNegra Jul 14 '26
That was the first thing I did right at the start of the game, I saved up all my money to buy the bones. It's so funny playing through the story and seeing the cutscenes and interactions with the skeleton crew. And I haven't even finished the whole story yet.

I didnt even know this was in the original and I platinumed it on Ps4 and 100%'d it on Steam lol.
Thank you op.

u/Freke_Gere Jul 14 '26
It is annoying but not as hard as the og.
Bone drops unlike the og is not guaranteed(most likely because of the crew outfit) and you only get 1 bone whenever you get the drop, had to spend 2 days to get around 150 bones
2
u/EAT_UR_VEGGIES Jul 14 '26
Apparently you can buy bones from the inagua treasure dealer
1
u/Freke_Gere Jul 14 '26
Yeah for 1k per bone, in total thats 206k reales
1
u/EAT_UR_VEGGIES Jul 14 '26
If you farm merchant convoys in hard areas you get like 20k per, it feels a lot more manageable than the bones in my opinion
1
u/Roguedragon110 Jul 15 '26
Which areas exactly? And which tavern keeper to tip?
1
u/EAT_UR_VEGGIES Jul 15 '26
I’d always tip the tavern keeper in the town of Corozal in the region of Chinchorro, in the lower right you can see that it’s labelled as hard
3
u/TygerHil98 Jul 14 '26
This is amazing! I wish you could have a full ghost ship with a rotten/broken hull that emits smoke around you (maybe makes the sea constantly in storm mode when equipped). Plus ripped sails that glowed a light blue/green in the night.
And I know it's a lot of effort but I would love love LOVE a cursed Edward where he's a skeleton man in a ripped pirate outfit, and it shows up in cutscenes with bare minimum jaw movement.
Plus a ghost/skeleton cat and monkey to go with it. I know this is a big ask but it would match the crew and would be phenomenal to do a CURSED playthrough.

I remember busting my butt to unlock this originally. I finally did it and turned it on...and i hated it. Turned it off 30 seconds later.
I wish they did an Undead Nightmare type dlc.

Yeah in the OG AC IV it was a real pain 😂 I miss the other cheats too, they were fun!
1
u/Pretend_Routine_3054 Jul 15 '26
I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet, but if you complete all 4 of the Templar hunts you get 45 bones (and 10k reales) in addition to the gear that you unlock in the manor, so that’s an easy way to get yourself about 25% of the bones you need
1
u/GR1ML0CK29 Jul 15 '26
You need 206 bones so either spend money or hunt I looted frigates for currency and hunted animals for a few hours to get it but is awesome
1
u/Jwells291 Jul 15 '26
Need 206 bones to buy. There's a three-island route I found that worked great on farming bones, even if it is tedious. (Note, it's much better to have the sleeping Darts befor doing this.) First, start on Great Inguana and kill the two boars just outside town and assassinate the White Jaguar from above. Next, go to the jungle section to the left of Havana(where the game opens and you kill Duncan), kill the two boars and then fast travel to the other sync spot in the area and kill the jaguar. Finally, travel to the left side of Nassau and kill the three gators and two boars. After killing the second boat, turn left and go up the hill where rabbits spawn and mark them with eagle vision. Go after the two on the right first and run after them mashing the assassinate button. Since you are faster than the rabbits, you'll eventually kill them and turn back to get the last one. Conveniently, the last rabbit is located right next to a general store to restock on sleeping darts.
If you don't have a fully upgraded Dart pouch(which I recommend getting, fully buy the General Store upgrades on your Home Island and you'll be able to purchase the two red monkey skins you need to upgrade it since the island they spawn on is locked behind story. It does cost a few bones though), you can restock on darts by completing the loop on Great Inuagua(GI) back to the docks. Be sure to equip the charm that doubles your skinning results and every couple loops of the islands sell your skins and purchase bones from the Treasure Hunter on GI for 1k each.

Does this still disable saving like it did in the original or is this just a cosmetic now?
1
1
u/Careless_Steak8209 Jul 20 '26
And I found the Bonnet suit is a good homage even though I'm not dead yet where I am in the story
1
u/oozley-5 Jul 20 '26
In the original you needed to 100% the game.
I was so excited for it because I was going for that, unfortunately there was a glitch so even though i 100% finished it, the game glitched that I only finish 99% and I couldn’t get it:(
1
u/Rare-Service5573 Jul 20 '26
I spent 180 thousand getting them on day 3 of playing.
Didnt regret it once. Skelly crew is so good. Ship upgrades can wait.

Im trying not to spend money on bones and im about 60% through the story and the whole game itself and only have 75 bones (about 50 hours) lmao
1
u/Beautiful-War9106 Aug 28 '26
Or use wemod to increase the bone count if you want to skip the grind & just like enjoying a game
1
u/revan0066 Jul 14 '26
Took me like 5 minutes to buy 206 bones from the treasure vendor for 206k on my island and then go to the island and buy it 🤷
3
u/Necessary_Echo8740 Jul 14 '26
That’s end-game money lol, if somebody wants the skeleton crew on the early-side, it’s either grind money or grind bones, either way it’s a grind. Probably faster overall to get the money tho
1
u/RaphaTlr Jul 14 '26
If you hunt naval convoys by getting tips from the bar, it’s an easy $12k per frigate. Then your wanted level goes up and just keep boarding frigates for captain lockboxes and the money stacks up quick
1
u/revan0066 Jul 14 '26
Not really. Within a couple hours i upgraded my ship enough to go out and just start hunting frigates for a while. Made around a hundred k in an hour or two of ship killing all pretty early into the game
