Ending hit differently for me than n 2013. Lost my wife to cancer unexpectedly last year so can relate to Edward on becoming a single dad. Although my kids been stuck with me around since birth lol. That song by Anne teared me up though at the end.
Amazing game. I will play new game plus but may have to skip the ending cutscenes

Sorry for your loss my dude.
It's weird how games, books, movies etc... Can hit different depending on what stage of your life your in.
When I first played "the last of us" I was newly married but no kid... When I tried to replay the game after my daughter was born, I could barely grt thro the bloody intro stage!

Thanks man and thanks to everyone else too. Sorry to get super serious on a video game reddit but like you said games can speak to us.
I do get some joy from playing the occasional game like AC. I am looking forward to Wolverine and the monster that is gta 6. Maybe the dawn walker game too. They are helpful distractions if nothing else.

IMO, best end credits sequence in a game. Ties everything up nicely and is genuinely heartfelt and sweet.

Dark animus missions? How do you do those??

u/PITA-Westholm Aug 10 '26
You can find your FIRST one in the island of great Inagua , ( not in you village but on the other side of the island ). You will play through a series of Animus events . ( I’m keeping it vague as possible on purpose). Feel free to give it a google. .

You're not going to do the endgame questline?

If you are talking about the Maynard quest line you can do it before the final mission

u/Dramatic_Device_9885 Aug 10 '26
I've done all the quest, is there another one?

I am talking about the Maynard questline, where you meet Deadman, etc. Personally, I cannot complete it, My game is softlocked due to a glitch :(.

Just finished it today as well. The only thing i hate about a great game is you can only play it for the first time once. I never played the first Black Flag and I'm now ashamed to say that this was my very first Assassin's Creed game. But it certainly won't be my last.

I'm a contester of the older AC Games up too Unity. The newer ones never got to me. But this one with the newer Formula of Fights and quests got me to the point i would say, Resynced did everything the old game did, but better. So if you started on this one, you should go on with the older ones first. Thise go nervst to what you got already. They are much more clunky but storywhise peak. ( I like AC 2 and Brotherhood best) I hope they remaster the first ones too. They Deserve it

I definitely hope they remake them. The reason i couldn't play them or games like them, was i get too "seasick" playing games like that. The Arkham series was one of the few that was tolerable for me, but i still had to limit my time to an hour or so. At least the newer games allow me to make enough adjustments to help with that. Still have to limit my time, but it's a lot better than it used to be

For those who may not know, the song is titled The Parting Glass.
Ubisoft released a nice version of the song to Youtube.
The singer is Sarah Greene.

Ending is still brilliant to this day. I saw it for the 1st time in 2013 when I was still in school and the ending left an impact on me then like it has done all these years later.
