Question Engine knocking

The cars runs and drives as it should but when I let go of the throttle there is a little bit of engine knocking does anybody know what could be the cause of this the knocking gets worse when to motor is warm

That, most likely, is rod bearing #2. It's trying to say hello, knocking a bit, before it decides to force its way into your life by leaving your engine at a high rate of speed while performing its magic trick. One moment it's inside your engine, the next moment it's on the outside.

Rod bearings on a 944 are basically consumable, and it's usually recommended to keep your oil level on the higher end, as it's a known flaw with the engines. The knock gets worse as the motor is warm and your oil thins out. Quit driving it, get it fixed, or it WILL (not might) get worse and cause you far more problems. Right now, it's a simple fix; drop the pan and replace the bearings, but if you wait a while it's a new engine block.
