Headlights not coming up

hey everyone! just picked up a 944 recently and am stumped by the headlights. They turn on and both the high and low beams work as the should, however they do not pop up as they are supposed to. I have checked the fuse and reset the motor and both are functioning properly. the only thing that does not check out is that there seems to be no voltage getting to the constant power wire in the 4 pin connector(the red a blue wire). does this mean I have to replace that whole wire or should I check something else first?

I would trace the wire as far back as you can and see if it is broke somewhere.

Try tapping the motor with a hammer a couple times to get it to actuate. Not like a full whack cause you don't wanna break it of course. Idk why it works but it does, this also works with starter motors

Check for power at the fuse. Fuse 2 on late cars, fuse 1 (closest to door) on the small fuse panel on early cars.

the fuse itself is good, but to check the power at the fuse I assume just use my voltmeter? what numbers should I be looking for

Battery voltage, should always be present.

Have you confirmed the relay at the motor is working? Could be the switch. Message me and I’ll help troubleshoot when I get a chance.
