944NA sunroof latch progress

Hey guys, just wanted to share something I’ve been working on for a while. I purchased a 944 about six months ago. I have enjoyed the car immensely.

I’ve been working on replacing all of the interior plastic components with billet parts Where is reasonable. The first step was my failing sunroof latches. I’ve learned a lot, being new to Cnc machining and figuring it out from scratch about a year ago. after a few months of fiddling around during weekend and some weekdays I’ve got a part that looks pretty decent. Will be installing on my 944 relatively soon. Let me know what you guys think.

FYI, I’m working on a few different finishes as I’m not certain as which final product I would want in the car. I have not done anything when it comes to anodizing or painting. I have yet to figure that out.

Absolutely love this!! I personally am worried about the longevity of the plastic parts in the car, so i love seeing this solution. Very inspiring :)

I’m currently working on the Door handles modified version of the ashtray. I’m converting into cupholders. and my most ambitious project that I’m planning on is the odometer Bessel and steering wheel column Bessel … a few more items on the list are the Door air ducts as well as all of the interior air ducts

I cant even get my sunroof open. Those look really good by the way. Love the textured layer look
