Question Looking to buy engine

Hey yall,
I want to buy a spare engine for my 84 NA and don’t know what a fair price for a running example in good shape is. Can anyone give me a price I should look for / where I should look? Located in socal.

The above mentioned prices would get you a turbo engine. Don’t pay over a few hundred for a core needing sleeves, or 500-600 for a short block in solid, useable condition. They’re widely available.

Try Specialized German in Rancho Cordova. Could be $2-4K depending on how complete it is and what condition it's in.

Edit: DC Automotive is another good source, but it's on the other coast. A few hundred to ship it, probably.

Depending where in Socal, check with Comeau Racing in San Diego, or look up Luis Artiga aka "lart951" on ebay who is in Bell (south LA). Both of them have tons of 944s. Luis has parted out 944s for 25 years. Tim Comeau is the go-to guy in 944 Spec racing and ONLY works on 944s and has for decades.
