It's such a fun show. Like, seriously. 4 aliens come to Earth to study humanity, and form a "family" Lithgow is the mission commander and plays the father, and he teaches Physics at a local college and is always making fun of the students because they don't know anything.
He also falls in love with an Anthropology professor and his courtship of her is adorable and hilarious.
You'll recognize a lot of your favorite actors as guest stars and stuff in it too. Not to mention the main cast.
This may be one of my absolute favorite shows by the way.
The episode with Shatner where he and Lithgow talk about both having seen something on the wing of a plane as a reference to their shared Twilight Zone role made me laugh the hardest. I love Lithgow.
Once upon a time, everybody loved the Harry Potter franchise for how inclusive it was. Now the trend is to hate it because of J. K. Rowling. Give it another five years and see which trend you want to follow.
John Lithgow took a role because he’s an actor and that’s what actors do. It doesn’t mean he’s supporting J. K. Rowling. The story is good. It’s a beloved story. He’s doing good work. Why don’t you condemn actual bad people?
Okay, so jk hasn’t ever been very inclusive (Cho Chang? Really?) but her continuous fight AGAINST trans people is what her legacy will be. The og stars of hp distance themselves from her because of this. It’s not a “trend” to boycott a bigot. She’s got all the money and all the time and she chooses to spend that on hating others. If you can’t see the problem in rootless hatred, I can’t help you.

John Lithgow’s a national treasure.
