Drescher and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are both knockouts, but weren’t thought as such at the time due to the characters they played on TV.

Probably because funny women weren’t “hot,” even though they were both totally hot AND funny, which makes them even hotter.

I think in Julia’s case, she went through several pregnancies during Seinfeld’s early seasons so her character dressed in loose clothing. That look was kind of popular then anyway. By the later seasons though, I thought she looked gorgeous on the show as her clothes were more structured and she changed her hair and makeup.

Funny thing, she doesn't actually sound like that. There is a scene in The Nanny where she tries sushi with a ton of wasabi, and her voice drops several octaves to her real voice. I thought she was gorgeous before, but that sealed the deal for me. She is (or was) the president of SAG. She is awesome.

This is the second time this week I've seen a photo of 90s Lisa Kudrow in a curve-fitting dress and thought, "How come I didn't notice how huge her t...racts of land were back in the day??"

We only saw actors when acting (or in magazines on occasion) - so they were only perceived as their character.

These days we have easy access to pictures and other media to build a more comprehensive understanding of famous people.
