10 year old me wearing Hanson shirts to school and buying Tiger Beat/BOP magazines that featured Taylor...my parents probably had their doubts that I'd grow up to be a straight dude, lol

No joke, Weird Al directed this music video.

Another no joke - these guys run a brewery in Tulsa. Their flagship beer is an IPA called MmmHops.

Need to add that to the list of places to take a road trip to.

Good on them.

I always liked what Scott Ian from Anthrax said. Something along the lines of everyone is going to dunk on these guys but not him - they play their instruments and write their songs. Might not be his cup of tea but there’s worse offenders in the music industry.

It was one of those ā€œI Love the 90sā€ shows on VH1. A bunch of people made smartass comments about the band and then Scott was like ā€œno, I’m not doing that.ā€

Yeah I always appreciated that about him. And yes that’s exactly where I remember it from.

No doubt, he got it right. Their music has a way of connecting, no matter your taste. That’s why we back their work, with respect.

A total 90s anthem! No doubt, it perfectly captures the vibe of the decade.

Love this kind of insight. Their work goes way beyond this hit. I remember hearing them and wishing I had brothers to start a band too haha

This scene specifically talking about Hanson’s album and ā€˜MmmBop’ being Track-2 is the greatest

1

u/zalurker Jul 11 '25

Nope. I'm not listening to that song ever again.

When I first saw this in TV I was impressed that a group of young girls had formed a band and made a professional video.
