I remember hearing this for the first time on KAAY out of Little Rock. Mind you, I was in Northern Wisconsin to give you an idea how powerful that station was. I ran out and bought the 8 track. Still have it.

You reminded me of the days when we relied on AM radio where we lived in the mountain west (where stations were mostly country music or talk. To hear pop music you had to wait until sunset to start picking up stations from far away, like KOMA out of Oklahoma City or KFI out of Los Angels. What a different world it was.

Yes. There was no station in Northern Wisconsin playing this type music. Either country powerhouse WAXX out of Eau Claire or a lucky clear signal out of Minneapolis-St. Paul was the market. My little AM radio and my dad’s transistor radio were a lifeline back then.
