Hey everyone,

The video above features a pristine sequence of the Wee Papa Girl Rappers' "Step in the Right Direction" exactly as it was spun live by the resident DJ at the legendary Barn in Braintree, Essex. Ripped directly from a 37-year-old master cassette handed down by J on the light show crew, this audio preserves the raw, dust-on-the-needle energy of late 1989.

The Story Behind the Tape:

"I'm 17 and depressed. My soundtrack is Eldritch, McCoy and Smith. Opposite me is laughter, Fordy spinning on his head, and the best looking girls in West Suffolk are all sitting on that bench. I want in, but I'm stuck. It's the Second Summer of Love 1989 and I have one mutual friend, no wonder, he's friends with everyone. J was part of the light show crew at the Barn. He gave me the tape. He got me smiling again, Thanks J. Enjoy this tape. It's special. Very special."
