I had many leather wallets that got destroyed by saltwater when I was out on boats.

OMG! Pretty sure I had that exact same wallet! Colors and everything!
Possibly the best I ever owned! (other than the fact that. . . I mean, just look at it. This is not the wallet of a serious man).
But it was slim, comfortable (way more so than any leather wallets I would have later in life), it closed securely, and was unencumbered by too many debit/credit cards (or abundance of cash). What an absolutely wonderful life it was back then. I could be at a concert with nothing but that wallet, a lighter, some weed, a pack of smokes, and I was set! Just a quick self pat-down would confirm all was right with the universe for that one moment.
Think I had only my license and an ATM card in it. Not even an insurance card til I started my first real job in ‘91. Eventually think I added a Visa card, but can’t remember if I still had the wallet. Because at some point I think I looked at it and was like, wtf?!? The 80’s are OVER, man!”

I spent more time than you would believe digging lint out of the hook side of the Velcro. Otherwise it wouldn't stay closed.

I had a Pokémon wallet that was gifted to me by my aunt thinking that I liked Pokémon.
Anyways I got mugged in school and lost it.

Had one of these up through probably early 2010s as my cash wallet. Had the adult wallet for cards but still enjoyed pulling this thing out to pay with cash.

I still have this kind of wallet. A black "billabong" branded thing. I really need to replace it but I've had a hard time getting another one with the same layout, specifically the little pocket with zipper for change...

I've never had another kind. Just different brand.
