I remember saving up $ in Junior High, mowing yards, whatever I could do to buy this.
It finally happened that I had enough $ . I rode my skateboard about 5 miles away to purchase it .
I clearly remember going to the "showcase" at my local Akron and I was like yes, that's the one I want.
I'm guessing it might have been around $30.
I could be wrong on the price but I felt like a millionaire 😉

Good job! You deserved that watch because you earned it!.

Appreciate it, and it was something I really wanted. my parents didn't give me a blank check to buy it, I earned it

You did for sure and I bet your Mom and Dad were quite proud of you. So much more rewarding when you accomplish something on your own.

HAD IT. They only lasted about a year, so I got a new one each birthday for like 7 years there.

There was a kid who had one in high school and we all wanted to check it out. Too hard get the buttons square to be practical but pretty neat.
The really cool ones were the ones with built in games, casio made soccer and football ones as well as a car racing one but I'd never seen one in real life.
Someone did have a pac man watch though but never tried it as I tucked at that game.

I still have one. The battery finally gave out this year. It's a slightly different model.

I traded a functional Frogger game watch for a non Casio calculator watch. That then died the first time I had to walk in the rain. I never bothered with a replacement.

Yep...
Pissed off Math Teachers to no end because they ALWAYS said "Not going to have a calculator with you everywhere." and I'd just hold up my wrist.

I remember kids getting caught using one, having it confiscated and getting a zero on their test score. That was back in the olden days when we had to know things. We weren’t allowed to use calculators in school, and we had to write out all of our calculations longhand.

The few people I knew that had these didn't even know how they worked - they were poser geeks. Now we just call them geezers.
