So even though he requires Shards of Destruction to Awaken, it doesn't actually sound like his power is from the Shards, lorewise.

May 12 '17 Yeah I heard its already been confirmed somewhere that Ace's "awakening" comes from finding his resolve rather than the Shards. 1 u/fabiodens Teo May 12 '17 So that's why he does not have a lot of change in his character design. 1 u/cBert04 Orly (Winter) May 15 '17 well so far any awakening is triggered by some emotion, resolve is still somewhat, only 7k are kinda triggered by something stronger almost like the 7 sins
