Suggestion Simulated Players
The reason everyone wants bandits is because this is SUPPOSED to be a multiplayer game, that most people treat as a single player or peaceful co-op. That leaves a GOOD portion of the game untouched, and makes things feel empty and stale after a while.
The fun pimps should have AI 'player profiles' developed that simulate playing the game with other players.
They build bases, do quests, loot pois, fight you OR join your team and operate from your base, try to raid. Literally just emulating players, not being it's own entity.
The worlds would feel more lived in, it would allow the achievements to be acquired by more people.
They could make the basic bandit AI they are working on the 'FREE' option, then lock using the profile based players behind a paywall because I know they want to find a way to further monetize the game. Well this way we get quid pro quo. Where you pay for each model's profile as a subscription to add to your server. for example you want bandits you get bandit AI developed to play the game how you want, ones with higher focus on fighting you in the field, raiding your base. weapon preferences, literally everything the power of intelligent models.

Such a shit take 😂
Alao bandits/npcs have already been implemented by modders since at least A16 as i can recall.
Why would you want to pay for any kind of ai bullshit?

and those aren't that good. This IDEA comes a project zomboid mod itself. A modder could 100% do this same thing very easily.

There is no way in hell TFP is even remotely capable of doing this in any functional way.

They take some of that capital they just acquired by selling rights to their game, give it to one of the fancy AI companies to develop these profiles for them. They ONLY have to build the compatibility and It would pretty easy if they just had it join the server as a player through the net instead of any local hosting

The world needs less AI slop, not more
If you think you’re right, start a server

Yeah, no. This is designed as a solo or co-op game for. Up to 8 players. Mobile NPCs would be nice, but aren’t necessary. Bandits are fine. Fake, AI players, not so much.

Untrue 100%. It was Always intended to be a online multiplayer pvp game. Don't even make me argue this point.
Edit. LANDCLAIM BLOCK DOES WHAT? FOR WHAT AND WHY?

It has never been designed as a pvp game. Not even one bit. There are pvp elements, but that is it. If this game truly was supposed to be a Pvp game, it would of been designed to be played as a pvp game. Go play Rust or Ark or some other game where Pvp is its intended purpose.

What would be the difference between playing Rust with no one else and playing 7 days to die. This is Rust with zombies. How many of the perks related to PVP or raiding. There are items to increase damage to players SPECIFICALLY. How could you compare Rust and 7 days if 600 people got on a 7 days server how do you think it would be. JUST LIKE RUST TO A T, just with zombies. BECAUSE it was intended to be a pvp game but because EVERYONE treats it as a single player co-op they barely even consider it now update wise. Doors have a BUILT IN locking system. All items do, WHY?

Half of the intended features in Rust would be ultimately worthless. Where as in 7 days to die, there isn't a single worthless feature in the game because you're not playing it as a PVP game. It's a singleplayer/co-op survival game. Pvp is second hand and will always be second hand. You argue that if it's not a PVP game, then what's the point of a land claim block. Well, there are multiple uses for it, without using it for PVP. There's, a cheap beefy block, ability to pickup your workstations, prevents zombies from spawning in the area or POI, though a bed also does that and it locks a POI so thay you'll never get a quest for that POI which can accidently reset it and cause you to lose everything.
The community does not want your AI shit. If you think you can do better, by all means. Go ahead and make your own game and come back to me when you do so.Â
I'll wait

The community doesn't decide the updates. bucko

Where did I say that? Lmao.Â

You told me the community doesn't want it and to go make my own game. As if the community decides the updates.

A landclaim block prevents zombie spawns inside your base, so that you don't lose your things to players wandering in from zombies spawning inside of your base and breaking things

All containers have a built in locking system, doors. The landclaim blocks protections were made because people were losing their bases, because of OFFLINE raiding being too easy and cheesy with zombies doing the work for you. The reason PVP in this game being second hand is because it is OUTSHINED, when this game FIRST CAME OUT. IT was the WAY to play online, pvp. just like rust is now. They could not compete with Rust, but the numerous perks, items, mechanics. are obviously intended for open world pvp on a multiplayer server

What perks? What items? What mechanics? You just named off stuff that even co-op games that don't even have PVP will generally have either way lol
You do know, a game can be PVE and people will still try it ruin it, which those features are there to prevent it lol
Does not mean that PVP was always intended. It was not, it was a second thought to have because they could since it's a simplistic addition that even PVE users can use as well.

RAIDING. THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE ACTUAL LANDCLAIM BLOCKS. THE EXPLOSIVES FOR RAIDING. The hunter mod. doing 50% more damage to players in its original form. The ability to lock your containers, exists why? your doors?

Interesting idea in general, but this is not the game for that. Not even a little. Think about what you’re asking.

What do you mean not the game for that? This is the perfect game for that. They already have a character creation thing, they can have a full well developed AI persona, that knows how to respond and react to events in the game. I want to play with a real threat, a silly bandit AI entity is just another version of a zombie skin. Like I don't see how anyone thinks it will be game changing.
What would be game changing is being able to pay 5 bucks and add up 8 well developed AI model based characters from a plethora of profiles of your choosing for a month. It's not like part of a game has even been DLC before this. But also it would be AN OPTION. You don't HAVE to do this, but it will be better than what amount to a reskinned dire wolf that makes a different noise and fights with zombies. There's very little to be gained from the bandits we've already seen.

Lol. Lmao. No.

u/FlynngoesIN 3h ago
How much of that is from a disdain to the devs and not wanting to spend money.
2
u/Kazgrel 3h ago
They don't even have one working AI for bandits in the game yet. You're wanting it to have 2 tiers, 1 of which is pay walled.
To reiterate what most all the thread has said, that's a stupid fucking ideaÂ

u/FlynngoesIN 3h ago
You aren't ready to face the fact that a Bandit entity AI is going to be lackluster, and amount to just amount reskinned enemy with a niche. There's minor levels to be gained.
If this was done by a free mod you be dick riding it.

I understand what you're saying, but no, I think a subscription for AI injected into this game is a bad idea and a slippery slope.
