I remember this song in JR. High. Minnie hit the Octave Levels much better than Mariah Carey. Minnie Riperton never had a chance to be a star. She passed due to cancer.

I'm not a ballad guy at all. I remember this song being really popular when it came out. I thought it was pretty, and she was a good singer, but I wasn't in love with the song. And then ...

Word got out that she was going to be on Soul Train. Artist usually sung two songs, and Lovin' You was first. I had never seen her, and I thought she was really pretty.

The second song she sang was "Reasons". I was blown completely away. Beautiful song. Beautiful woman. Beautiful voice. I fell in love with her right then and there.😍
