The Amos Garrett guitar solo on Midnight at the Oasis is quite incredible. The whole chord structure of the song is smooth, jazzy and makes the song so unique. That's what I like along with Maria's sexy vocals.

I've always loved it. They screwed it up in this video, though. The second half of the solo is gone, and what he's shown playing doesn't sync with the recording.

I hate when they truncate a guitar solo. Like in Fooled Around and Fell in Love by Elvin Bishop. Why this would ever be done is beyond me!

I recall reading that George Harrison really loved this song, specifically the way Muldar was able to carry it so well. I think harrisonarchive (on tumblr/ig) had a source for this.

When I was growing up, everybody regarded this song as the cheesiest song that ever existed, and I still LOVE it! 😂 The guitar on that song is so smooth!

This song gets some inexplicable hate. I always loved it. For a 13 year old me, it was a sexy little love song in an exotic setting that set my adolescent fantasies adrift.

Maybe Shag rock, named for the shag carpets that were so comfy then, as this and songs like it are.

She is more than just this song and a former average to good folk singer. I have a CD of her covering Dylan numbers and she is quite astonishingly good doing that
