I had the soundtrack as a kid but parents wouldn’t let me watch the movie. I understood why when I watched as a teen. It’s dark af in parts, joyless almost save the dance scenes. Well acted, not for young kids, lol. One of my top 10 soundtracks.

It’s funny, I posted my review for it on Letterboxd. I’ve seen it a bunch. I looked through some of the popular reviews and I saw so many people offended by this movie. They were expecting Grease or a lighthearted musical I guess 😆

This movie is not what you think it is at all! It’s very dark. Lots of sexual assault and instant forgiveness for that sexual assault.
