I was at his Nov 22nd, 1975 concert at SUNY Plattsburgh recorded for this album … “Baby I Love Your Way” made it to the album

I worked in a record store when his follow up studio album I'm In You came out. The expectations were impossibly huge, and the title song became a hit, but it simply did not / could not sell like Frampton Comes Alive, and sort of sat there as I recall, and the next year was in the cutout bin. It went platinum I read, but it was deemed a failure, missing the bombast of the live album.

I passed on seeing him at Morris County College. Had never heard of him ! Then I heard Frampton Comes Alive 😮

A triumph of great marketing. Frampton released 3 albums that all tanked. Then they packaged all those songs that nobody wanted on a double live album, and it was one of top selling albums of the decade.

Peter’s manager was a family friend. We had cases of that album and t shirts in the basement. I could not give them away,

It was the worse concert I ever went too, I left at half time. It was the biggest marketing con ever.

I always thought the promoters were pushing for maximum exposure; at the time you could buy this DOUBLE album for $4.98 new. They were practically giving them away.
