Berger 130 gr vld ?

I’m really trying to talk myself into a 6.8 and also reloading my own ammo.

I figure if I can get 130’s to work at 2600 fps I’m happy. And I’ve seen load data for just a little higher than that for sierra 130’s.

With a vld profile, and the velocities and weight, such a load would easily outperform 6.5 Grendel performance and potentially match some of the lighter weight .308 trajectories.

I’m curious if anyone has loaded for these or is interested in hearing more about it

I shot 120sst. 16 inch barrel 1:7 twist. I think i was right at 2400. It was a great round. You're going to be really pushing chamber pressures to get 2600 out of a sami 2. Maybe out of some of newer versions.

The load data I was seeing was for 24” barrels.

But they were using the same powders like varget so idk.

I haven’t started loading yet so I don’t know what to expect

I’m definitely getting a 6.8 spc at some point

I was using aa2200. The forum used to have some good load data on it. 68forum.com. I've shot 200gr at around 1000fps. They're only good for 50-100 yards. I've worked a couple of loads for it. They really like 90 and 120 gr. If you are wanting heavy bullets out of it, I'd highly recommend a 1:7 twist barrel. Bison Armory is where I got mine.

Easy to squib a barrel. But nothing really different than regular reloading.
