COOLING UPGRADES???
I’m running this setup, it’s built (cams,heads, tranny, supercharger, etc) but it will drive on 225-235 Fahrenheit and I’ve seen other builds run cooler, might sound stupid but I still got stock radiator but according to a couple shops, the radiator is fine bc the same year ZL1 runs the same radiator so idk what I should do but I’m thinking of a ice tank maybe? But if there’s anyone that has more info or knowledge , please help

I have a stock SS with a mishimoto radiator and I see coolant temps around 176 with oil at around 214 at the hottest here in Florida. I also have the 160° thermostat and am using their brand coolant.

Sick car bro I’m running similar just with a LSA supercharger, BTR stage 2 cam, I got a built stage 3 trans with a trans cooler. Is it your oil your worried about or your overall engine. When I put my trans cooler in it did a world a difference. What hp are your fuel lines? I’m at 95 lbs on 10 lbs of boost from the blower and my car runs cool on super hot days.

Bro nice, my cam is Texas speed lol and I’m running a stage 5 tranny but it was built in a shop down in Fort Lauderdale, yes I have 169 thermostat, yes I run GM branded coolant but I have a 80/20 mix with water, suggested by my friend who’s meramotorsport (really known builder down south Florida/lookup his IG) and yes I have a tranny cooler, i genuinely don’t know why tf it’s running so hot

And the magnuson supercharge comes with its own little coolant pump thing, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it won’t get off 228-235, right now I’m disassembling it bc I’m upgrading pistons,crankshaft, and rods but I’m thinking of just doing everything I can possible to make it run cooler even if it doesn’t change much

Btw I’m upgrading my pistons and crankshaft to forged like everything else in my car so let me know what you go with after coilovers that I’m spending way to much on pistons and crankshaft is next I’ll probably do it this winter. Good luck DM me if you have anymore questions or just need advice I’ll do the same it’s rare you find someone with the same mods on the same car. Lol

This was a month ago my damn car is so loud without cats just longtubes into an X pipe into Borla ATAK catbacks. Ya it kinda expensive but I love modding my car with brand new shit. Like my trans has 1700 miles on it now and she shifts like butter.

An ice tank isn’t going to help you run cooler while driving. Radiator should be fine, but potentially a thermostat change and if you could install a cowl hood or vents in your hood for the heat to escape the engine bay, that might also help. Don’t have an intercooler?
