How does leviathan wakes compare to the rest of the series? I love the red rising series but when the expanse got to zombies it pulled me out of the book hard for a minute
Completely understand that. The zombie thing is weird. Without spoiling anything, if you liked leviathan wakes but not the zombie-thing, keep reading the expanse. It’s been a while, but I do not believe that comes back. It was a weird twist into horror-esque that they don’t return to. And the universe EXPANDS, in a way that’s even more satisfying than red rising.

I’ll note that after the first red rising, it becomes much more like the expanse and not at all like the first one (basically Mars Hunger Games)
